You turn the red ring to measured temp not the blue ring. Then you adjust the blue ring to where you want the tank to be.

How can you tell if your nitrates are 10 ppm or 20 ppm when 10 ppm and 20 ppm are the same color on the test card? In fact, many people I asked said the 10 ppm square is actually darker than the 20 ppm square. Also, there is a video on YT where someone tests their water using several different brands of test kits and each one gives a different reading. How do you know which brand is accurate?
@Nina_Sophia6 ай бұрын
Correct instructions per the manufacturer state to turn the Blue ring to the temp that you desire. Then turn the Red ring to the halfway point (I'm assuming on the backside as this is the only thing that makes sense to me. Correct me if I'm wrong). Then check your water temperature. If the heater is set at 80, but your thermometer reads 78, you then turn the Red ring so that the Red arrow now points to 78. Now it's calibrated.

I've been taking my water from the top of the tank because I'm assuming my pump is doing a good job cycling the water. Should I be taking the water near the bottom of the tank?
@FishAddicts Жыл бұрын
you can take the water from the top, there usually isnt a big difference between top or bottom ,unless its a very very deep tank with poor circulation

To calibrate, simply bang it in for 24hrs then take water temp readings preferably from 2 or more thermometers. work out the average between them and twist the red ring pointer to the average reading you got. That's because most heaters temps are out of the advertised range and this way you haven't got a static temp marker dot that you have to add or subtract from. It'll probably still fluctuate, so best to do a check now and again over time.

Lol why doesn’t my sponge filter sink ? It floats ?
@rancoraquaticswholesale22252 жыл бұрын
when its new ,its full of trapped air bubbles ,just squeeze it out under water and it should sink. you may have to do this a couple times when the sponges are new. also make sure not to crush the inner parts of the filter when squeezing.

I have lost a pond full of koi and aquariums full of african cichlids because I couldnt get the meds needed here in canada. Our trudeau government could care less unfortunately. I am really angry I had to give up the fish hobby I loved and that our government could care less about the animals on this planet. My vets wouldnt take the fish either.

Kimberly Vito 0 seconds ago Hi I need advice about my fish tank which I only have a frog and 2 snails in it I always use Seachem Prime and for a while it worked great about 2 days after I do a water change once a week. Afterwards, I check my levels and my Cl2 mg/L levels goes up to 0.8 - 1.5? Not sure why this doing that? I have a 10 - gallon tank for a froggy and I lost one of snail. I been putting a lot more of the Prime in because of this I am not sure why it doing this??? Thank you

Personally I think they should’ve just restricted access. Kept all meds mandatory in a locked cabinet in the store and forcing employees to educate any who purchase them on how to dispose of the meds in the water in such a way that the whole thing isn’t an issue any more. Why is it fair to keep using antibiotics for other pets and people but restrict it for fish??

@@phillyqueso9164 if your cycling the tank, use prime until there is no ammonia or nitrite present which is usually approxmtely 30 days but can finish a lil longer or shorter.
