Very nice. A lot more work building the head, but using dumbbell eyes instead of stick-on makes for a much more durable fly. The need to glue on eyes on these EP baitfish patterns is a weakness in my opinion.

it’s usually random for which fly shops will carry them. these are the attached eyes but you can get the singles and cut them short then use zap goo as well

I agree with the other commenters. The dubbing loop seems like an unnecessarily complicated step. The fish sure don’t care 5:55

Dubbing loops are simple to do , plus you don’t have the added weight of that hide which will hold water. I make my flies as light as possible . Casting a fly all day makes a difference with one that’s easy on your arm .

Interesting pattern, good idea, looks great. If you wrap your materials in the same direction as you wrap your thread, it will make fastening the material easier and you'll end up with a tighter tied fly. Thanks for sharing.
