The greatest Rock and Roller in my life, at least in my ears and mind!

Dave’s a comedic genius. You need to sit at home for a weekend and binge watch his show.

I remember when this came out in high school and then a decade later friends of mine talking about Tool and the another ten years and friends of mine worshipping Tool. I stepped back and realized they were all pot head musicians.. I like Tool just fine but it is not my religion.

A famous solo that flies under the radar was his turn on “ Let’s Dance “ by David Bowie. He turned Bowie’s offer of a place on his world tour in his band; he told him he felt like his own music was about to pick up and he needed to concentrate on his own stuff! He wasn’t wrong!

Stevie was a conduit, music just flowed through him effortlessly. Every guitarist who played beside him said this and they knew right then and there who truly was the best. Unfortunately Stevie did not live long enough for the world to figure that out!

Vocal acrobatics were not a thing back then - that one-up-manship didn't start until the 2000's.

I can't believe y'all never heard Stevie Ray...wow. He was taken from us way too soon. Technically it was amazing. You need to do more of him. I found him in the 80s, as a preteen. No excuse guys😂

This song was so esoteric but billboard material, the message is missed. We are all a reflection of each other. 'Something about you' shows familiarity in ALL WAYS!

Stevie Ray was magic. Pure magic. You watch and listen to the man and you are captured by it. He is elite and something unreal. I remember hearing on the radio when he died and it was like I fell through the floor. A ton of bricks fell on me. It was just that devastating. You knew right then and there you will never witness anyone like him again and to this day no one has. A bright light that was snuffed out. I live not too far from Alpine Village where he was performing and the helicopter crashed. My brother lives in Milwaukee right outside of there and going to his house I always feel like I am going through a graveyard. You feel the loss every time.

This is a Jimi Hendrix song. Much of the first part is note for note covering Jimi, like SRV was in church, reverent. Listen to Hendrix's live Machine Gun from Band of Gypsys album if you want to hear another legendary live guitar song. RIP Stevie, Jimi, Jeff Beck unfortunately, ...

Love you guys, man! I take it that this is y'all's first take on SRV. Well, you NEED to do 'Texas Flood' next. Live at the El Mocambo. IT IS by all standards, the GREATEST guitar performance of ALL TIME. Period. Your jaws will DROP. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXSYeWyGaatoi80 You all are going to love, love, LOVE going down this rabbit hole...🙂 All the GOATs loved this man. From the King's (Albert; B.B. and Freddie) to the likes of Clapton and Buddy and Collins and so many more - they were just so AWARE suddenly - of him. Yeah, you guys are gonna be blown away by the stuff this cat put out. I'm going to enjoy joining you. Peace out, guys.
