they were sent out to many places, Israel, Finland, Switzerland (I think) and Germany.

@@WingsandBlades257also many countries in the Balkans had systems of these and there's a Pintsch-Bamag in Egypt on the rooftop of the Mogamma building in Cairo. Switzerland had a small system of 9 (iirc) HLS-381 part of a nuclear plant. Those got replaced by SES-1000 sirens. There was also a planned import of Hörmann F71 in switzerland through TIG Bicord AG which ultimately failed after swiss civil defense found the F71 not matching their expectations but at least they tested a model in Bern, at the Monbijoustrasse.

@@mclarensuniversethatisverystic But these higher-pitched are old units and I don't know are any of them working anymore in the city of Lappeenranta, the last working ones what I know were located at Sammonlahti and Huhtiniemi. Around 4 years ago here was more of them, but also many of them were abandoned already around 2018-2019. All of them are either completely removed or still in place but not in use.

Joo pitkään ollut poistettuna ja pelkät kaiuttimet katolla, ihan vieressä on se uusi D1800 ja UPM:n Sarcotkin kuuluvat oikein hyvin tuohon. Tähän aikaan kun kuvasin tän videon ei ollut vielä sitä uutta paloasemaa jossa on D1800, joten Sarcot kuuluu tässä vielä paremmin kuin nykyään koska se D1800 peittää aika hyvin ne Sarcot.

It is both really. It uses a chopper disk with 4 holes in it which looks very similar to a Chrysler’s chopper and a 4 hole stator to direct the sound into 4 large horns that are inside the siren’s head, and the chopper gets supercharged with air from compressed air tanks which makes the siren loud as hell similar to a Thunderbolt but just without a roots blower
