Brigitte Helm was absolutely mesmerizing. She played such a saintly character and at the same time could totally turned 180 and became her insane robot double.

Revolution, Caprica, among others that are TOO GOOD for the world.😢 I totally agree with everything you said. Also, IT'S TELLING how these great stories are canceled when A.I. comes into play. "REVOLUTION" was a f'n cool show!😢 One more thing I have to say, IF anyone gives a damm, I WISH we could have seen lacy and the robots KFA!😂

Thank you for the travel down memory lane. I'm 78 and I remember some of the shows that you brought to our attention. One of the actresses appeared to look like Betty White! And Mr. Roddenberry gets reprimanded for mini skirts' but I noticed some in this Video. Our first TV was a Motorola BW [1952] cube on four stilts. I note 1952 for I do remember news reels of the Korean conflict. And what was that? Was that the earliest membership card with decoder ring offered? The westerns, Roy Rogers and others had a code of conduct. was there a code that came with that card? With different actors, some of these were on Radio way before television came along. Now, here is a project. THE INTERNET ARCHIVE may have some copies of the shows you brought to our attention. "Galaxy", "Amazing Stories", were other magazine that were published. Somewhere along the line there was even one labeled, "Asimov".

1:02 That's so funny. The studio spent SO MUCH money at the time, that they felt the need to advertise it on the literal cover and film posters, hahaha.

Our aim was never to include spoilers, which is why we make no reference at all to the ID monster nor how it's created. If you've picked up on a spoiler then it certainly wasn't intentional. So please accept our apologies.

something to note: you mention how caprica is set 58 years before either the 1978 series and 2003 series, when this is not correct, Caprica is set before the events of the first cylon war, the first cylon war however while using models and designs from the OG series is NOT the 1978 series, the first cylon war uses the designs from the 1978 series as a cute call back and as a way to honor the older series and as a way to show how the cylons and colonial forces advanced technologically and create a link between the 2003 series so the redesign wouldn't feel as out of place. basically the 1978 series is non canonical to the events of the 2003 time line as their in the broad strokes the same story beginning with the destruction of the 12 colonies and then moving into the ragtag fleet fleeing the cylons for earth, but BSG 1978 is basically separate from the 2003 incarnation
@scifizone
@scifizone 25 күн бұрын
Most of our research suggested that Caprica was set 58 years before BSG (2003) so we went with that. It's worth noting it was not our intention to go into the nitty gritty of the timeline/s of the shows because we just wanted to focus on Caprica itself. As for the 1978 series not being canon to the 2003 series, yes that makes complete sense.

It does exist on physical media (definitely DVD, unsure about Blu-Ray), though you'll probably have to do a hunt on eBay for it. It's unlikely to be on a streaming service

Here's a made for television movie from Warner Brothers that I only saw once as a child (I'm now 76) and never again. It was called DEEP FREEZE and starred CHARLES BRONSON, ALLISON HAYES and GERALD MOHR from around 1955 or 1956. I see it listed on science fiction movie sites, so I know it exists, but there's no physical video to be found anywhere. Does anyone know why this film has not been released to the public for home viewing? Maybe someone at Warner Brother's might read this and let me know the answer. NICE VIDEO....

I could never decide if the scientists from the future actually engineered the events, to the point of being on the plane with the man who spread the virus (she would have known she would likely get infected as well). They certainly wanted a pure form of the virus for a cure, and did not seem to show any interest in actually stopping the event.

Caprica did feature the Vipers. They were still atmospheric fighters then, and not space ships yet. It's when Zoe dates the scientist kid (that she later kills) and they go flying in the Vipers.

They should have let Glen A Larson do his TV movie miniseries idea 💡 and then depending on the success and popularity of those and then do a syndicated series. But yes, Battlestar Galactica definitely had the potential to be become a major multimedia franchise like Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who and any of the superhero IPs ..but was screwed by the network from day one! Wheras 'So Say We All' (I don't call that Battlestar Galactica!) by Ron Moore and Syfy should have been an entirely different IP altogether! (And perhaps sharing the same universe as Firefly/Serenity?) 🤔😇😎💪👍

The original B&W Quatemass had a more detail telling of how scientist and management or government work with each other. That is, if the committee understand the point the scientist is making in a way, they will fund and defer to him completely. This is a point missing in the subsequent film version of Quatemass and the Pit. My mum loved all of them and also the first doctor who, who was genually angry when there was cause to be. Mum also told about the series A for Andromeda, where a blueprint received from space tells how to make a computer which in turn creates a girl but with its own nasty agenda.

Remakes/reimaginings can definitely be done, especially of the older films like Forbidden Planet. If it works, we get a modern classic. If it doesn’t work then we still have the original version totally untouched. The only losers will be the studios, the viewers win whether it’s a success or a failure because we will always have the originals.
@scifizone
@scifizone Ай бұрын
Yes for sure. however, the main issue is when studios choose to remake a classic when a remake isn't actually required. Ultimately there are some good points to be made for both arguements, though it's likely cinephiles and purists would much prefer to see new and original stories be made into films, as opposed to going down the 'cheats way out' by remaking/rebooting/re imagining.great films which don't need it.
