Why did you guys switch stoves through the video? I think you started with the knico and then switched to a collapsible one?
@coryinthewoodsАй бұрын
Good eye! The Knico we were having trouble with it smoking out the tent and we kept having to open the doors to air out. Once we switched to the collapsible one the issue went away. We suspect it was something to do with airflow but will have to play around with it another time.

Looks amazing! I need some of that snow in my life. Once January hits, I’m going to load my xc skis up and start chasing it if it doesn’t come here. I probably will regardless…
@coryinthewoodsАй бұрын
Dude yes! Definitely worth the drive to have the snow to play in. fingers crossed we get some down here that sticks though!

Wow dude, the snow is beautiful! Such a tiny car though.. is it four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive or just front wheel drive? I don't eat deer meat but as far as looks it looks really good. Glad y'all stayed safe and had a good time!
@coryinthewoodsАй бұрын
The car is just front wheel drive which is one of the reasons we weren’t able to get to our original destination. We had never been up to this part of the state in the winter and didn’t know what to expect, next time something with 4WD for sure! Otherwise the snow, food, and everything else was great! Thanks for watching!

What are you using to keep the camera so steady?
@coryinthewoodsАй бұрын
While moving around it’s just the built in stabilization of the camera, which is a DJI action 4. For other shots I didn’t have a tripod so I leaned it up against trees, tent walls, or lodged the selfie stick between some logs. Hope this answers your question!
@darbrojam7440Ай бұрын
what an idiot, a tent with no floor, then didn't scrape all crap away before he put up his tent. what a dumbass. I wouldn't camp with him, he'll get you killed
@donolinger6904Ай бұрын
Most hot tent campers don't want a permanent floor. They want a removable one that might have a removable stove area. Some don't want a floor at all unless they want an inner tent for warmer weather and insect free sleeping.

I’m also of the mindset to leave the rock cairns. They have helped me navigate specifically the Minong Ridge. Nice to know the way rather than walking down some moose trail.

Nice video but you were hard to understand.
@donrobertson4611 Жыл бұрын
If you're kicking over rock cairns, then you've never been on the Minong Ridge trail.
Nice video! I’m heading up there in a couple weeks! Looks nice! I take it you don’t know what a Rock Cairn is since you kicked it over…those particular rocks are used as navigation on trails if the trail isn’t defined greatly people can follow the cairns to know the right way lol
@coryinthewoods Жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for watching! I sure do know what a cairn is though, but I find them to be against LNT practices and more often than not unnecessary. On top of that they really take away from the experience and fun of navigating by yourself too!
@Ontrail82 Жыл бұрын
@@coryinthewoods well I wouldn’t have that mindset. Not everyone is like you. I am and I feel the same way as it takes away from the natural beauty of the area but I try to think of other people and those who aren’t so great at navigating and would be lost without them. It could mean disaster for the person who’s out there not as experienced. Don’t mean to argue or nothing but it’s just a bad idea kicking them over in areas where the trail is not so defined. It is still a trail, people need them.

Get yourself a used kevlar canoe in September from an outfitter. Even a beat up pne will last 30 years. They are light, quiet, cool and fast. If you want stanility. That can be had also. Also get two used bent shaft carbon paddles. They will also last a lifetime. Also get a 13x13 Eurika no bug zone tarp/ screen porch. They make a 9x9 but the extra space is worth the extra cost and small weight addition. Platypus water filtration is a must. So easy. Wear your life jackets ALL the time. I have been going on trips for 40 years. The one time wr did not habe our jackets on. We flipped. If you go to Qutico in Canada. It is more expensive but far fewer people. If you do any early june trips. Topwater smallmouth bass fishing is the bomb. Cast right next to shore and work it slow.
