Hi @MartinTownend if you're using the same forks Mike recommended or any other with a 43-45mm brake caliper mount we have a very affordable twin piston hydraulic front brake kit that we can recommend. It comes complete with a right hand master cylinder, lever, brake line, caliper and comes pre-bled for $30 shipped! Optional is a $8 180mm brake disc so you can take full advantage of the larger brake caliper. Please send us a message if you'd like to know more. Thanks!

Thanks for putting together this video Mike, we've shared it with lots of customers that need help removing the pressed in lower stem. The SAE hardware from Lowes is a great affordable option but unfortunately not using the correct sized metric hardware will result in slop and movement in the front end. We tried a similar solution when we first started modifying our own bikes but knew we wanted something more precise. Our model specific triple clamp and adapter kits feature our first of its kind 15mm, 220% stronger stem bolt that pairs perfectly with the original Razor steering neck bearings for a solid, no play install. We've also released an upgraded aluminum bearing support tube with the correct 15mm inner diameter that can be used for Razor models that need it. If you still have this build and are interested, we'd love to get your honest feedback on how it compares with the DIY option. Thanks again for helping the community with your video.

@voltmasterp8470 - the original Razor bearings have a 15mm ID which is why the 12mm bolt has slop. Our 15mm stem & bushing adapter kit is the only one on the market that matches the exact size of the bearing for a clunk free install. Mike has done a great job putting together a list of SAE hardware that can be found at your local hardware store but our kit was custom engineered for the Razor application. We even have model specific stem bolt lengths for MX500/650, SX500 and RSF650 applications; this was there is not an unsightly and dangerous amount of extra bolt threads sticking out from the bottom.

@cameronrogers7577 the MX500/MX650 steering stem on the frame is approximately 7" long. The upper/lower clamps have a combined thickness of just under 2" so a 10.5" bolt should certainly work. For MX500/MX650 applications we actually spec out a shorter bolt then that and have zero issues with install. Feel free to reach out to us on our socials or post here if you need any support with your build.

I'm using 13 in scooter tires 6ply . The smaller tires might take a little more abuse?. It is 2 fardriver 84530s. The power snapped the other fork. Actually it exploded. So I'm hoping for a lot stronger? 😕 any Ideas helpful.

@@Vmaxfodder wow that's a lot of power for sure! We would highly recommend going with the largest stem diameter possible which with the original Razor bearings is 15mm like we provide in our stem & bushing adapter kits. Larger diameter forks will also help add to the stability of the bike and hopefully not "explode" like your last set. Hope you didn't get injured from the accident, good luck with your build.

@matthewlizardi1148 not sure if you got your issue resolved but it sounds like your bike has a smaller inner tube which won't allow the larger stem bolt to pass through. @@matthewlizardi1148 awesome glad you got it out 👍 We've actually had quite a few customers do the same to get the lower bearing out to replace the tube with one of ours. Hope you replaced the original tube with one of the same length since without it there's nothing stopping the bearings from going further into the steering neck. It may not happen right away or ever but if it does the top and bottom clamp will now grind on the frame once it's no longer in contact with the bearings. @@claudiohernadez1928 yes the stock Razor wheels have 12mm bearings. So any other wheel with 12mm bearings will fit as long as they aren't too wide to fit within the forks you have. You can also run a 15mm wheel but you will need 15mm to 12mm reducer bushings for the axle to continue running your 12mm forks/axle.

@dogdronesearchdd3782 it will work if the stem bolt listed has enough threads since the the SX500 steering neck is about 1" shorter then the MX500/MX650. So, ideally you would find a 1" shorter bolt which should be possible. Our kits include model specific length 15mm 220% stronger stem bolts. We took the time to test different lengths to find the ideal sizes for MX500/MX650, SX500 and RSF650 applications.

@anthonymoy4471 you are correct, without the tube the bearings have no support and can be pressed further into the neck. This can result in the clamps grinding on the top/bottom sides of the frame neck. The original Razor tube can be used unless you have a model that has a tube with inner diameter smaller then the original 15mm bearing tubes. We offer an upgraded 15mm inner diameter aluminum bearing tube that's we cut to model specific lengths to match the original Razor tube. @aadricallan8651

When you push down and pull up is there a clicking noise?

This is likely due to the fact that the 1/2" (12.7mm) bolt used for the stem is undersized for the 15mm bearings. This results in play and 'clunk' when you push or pull on the bars. Our 15mm stem and bushing adapter kit is sized to precisely fit the original razor bushings with zero slop 👌

@PYMoto
@PYMoto 2 ай бұрын
You can try opening the top fork gap and reducing the fork oil height by 5-10mm. This will increase the air gap above the oil and result in a slightly softer fork. The opposite will stiffen the fork but both will only have a small effect. The fork spring, valving and oil weight will have much larger impacts on fork stiffness but the oil level is something cheap and easy to play with to fine tune the feel. At the very least, just replacing the factory 'oil' in these overseas forks will make a world of difference.
