Great series! I own a couple scanners and do all my own mechanic work along with friends and family and just recently bought a newer Autel al319 inexpensive scanner specifically for the live data. It’s really amazing how much information and features you can get with a cheap scanner these days compared to when I got my first one 15 years ago that was 5x the cost lol. you went over the basics but that’s where someone has Gotta start out to use the live data and interpret values for troubleshooting. I found the videos helpful and they are easy to understand for the average diy. I’ll definitely be checking out the rest of your channel!

I'm old and I have had batteries that tested well and were still bad. After three times of the car failing and it costing me several afternoons of taking it back in the mechanic finally said never do this and laid a tire iron across both battery terminals and nothing happened. Ever since then if I have any kind of electrical problem and the battery is more than a year old, I just replace the battery. They only last about 3 years in Texas anyway. The heat kills them.

Im wondering if the ETC you mention is Transmission Temp?

Can you detect the cars real mileage using this scan tool?

My 10th generation honda civic randomly drops the temperature to 0 bars. If i restart the car it acts like it is in close loop cold start mode. Also it is fixed randomly while driving. Can somebody help me diagnose this as nobody in Pakistan is able to detect where the problem is.

Does clearing the Readiness Monitors on the scanner clear them from the scanner only? Or does it clear them from both scanner and ECU?

why do brakes influence the A/F ratio?

I have 1 downstream stuck at 0.1 volts at idle all the time. Rarely goes up to follow the other which is at 0.6. Probably bad?

Do you know how to do a crank position relearn with it

Another way to identify the cylinder without 2 channels is pull a spark plug and write down which cylinder it is once you have the firing order you will know the rest.

Can you tell us what each one should be at? You mentioned some of them, but it would've been nice to hear what the green zone is if you will for each reading. Like MAF what is a good number? Even if it's car specific and you can only give us the "good number " on your type of car that'd still be super helpful. Especially to the ones who have that car. I know I'd appreciate it!! Who else would like to know the optimal range for these readings!?

Is this a Complete diagnostic Scan tools ?does it Scan from 1996 cars going up ? How about Toyota Camry 2001 2.2 Liter 4 Cyl or Buick Park Ave 2003 3.8 Liter does it Scan these cars ? Does this scan for battery ignition parameters ? Does it Scan for a bad head gaskets ? Is this the latest version 2024 ? Can you use a wifi of your phone to scan live data .? What about the Updates can you used a wifi ?

Helpful video and gives a lot to be looking for. I recently got one of these tools, so sorry for the ignorance but I thought you were only supposed to use when engine is off? I think I must have missed something.

Extremely helpful video. Yes, it's noted that it doesn't tell you for sure what might be wrong w/ O2 sensor, but does do a good job in interpreting the scanner tool info and if your sensor is kaput the scan tool should pick that up.pretty easily.

It would be great if you could make more of these sensor testing videos
