What shocked/disappointed me the most with the story mode (besides Vegeta’s not having any Super fights and Trunks’ skipping the androids arc) is the lack of the fight with Broly, the game’s aesthetic was so heavily influenced by the DBS Broly so it shocked me that not even Goku’s episode battle featured the DBS Broly fight

If custom battles had a favorites option for captions it would be 1000x better

Another cutscene limitation is certain characters cant do certain cuts or poses such as kid gohan not being sent flying or having a damaged pose

Really good review!! You’ve pretty much aired out all my grievances I have with this game, but still acknowledged what makes it special. I was beyond excited for this game, and while I’ve had my fun, I can’t help but feel a bit disappointed by what it’s lacking. Hopefully the updates and dlc flesh out the game more!

I comeplety agree the vegeta story is bullisht. When I realized that you couldn’t do the saiyan arc I was dissatisfied enough. Then when I finished the buu arc I was exited for dbs but hell no the story ends right their. If they don’t add parts to his story in the next like 5 months I’m never buying a dragon ball game ever again. I already have my expectations low for the next characters story

I was always obsessed with the ToP so any what if that features ToP content is my favorite; except Jiren’s only because everything you said is right (I prefer him over Goku Black still, only because playing as Black felt so hopeless and sad)

About the matchmaking, I think they should make it more like Brawlhalla. Making the lobby only for fighting with friends, and for casual, just like the ranked one. And if someone dc mid game, they could replace him by a bot so the other player can continue to play.

Should of got "What if Broly went LSSJ3 then fought SSJ3 Goku,SSJ3 Vegeta, and SSJ3 Gotenks?" Or "What if DBZ Broly beat the Z fighters".

I think a fun what if would be having non canon transformations there, imagine an what if gohan went ssj on namek after freeza tanks the spirit bomb, or having Vegeta going SSJ3 after Beerus slaps Bulma, or maybe have Gogeta fight Zamasu and black, i know they are canon but i like them more

I find the Frieza what if so frustrating because Cooler is in it...and he's absolutely wasted. It's such a tease. Cooler is a non canon character from the movies so the opportunity to see him in a what if of a canon event should be special. But he fights Hit and he sucks in his brothers What If. Yeah sure, movie wise he's weak in comparison to Super era characters but who cares?! The good version of this what if would be Cooler and Frieza fighting against Cabba, Kale, and Caulifla then Kefla as part of their weird Saiyan Revenge plan. Then Cooler teams up with Frost to betray Frieza and Frieza and a partner the player gets to choose (Goku, Vegeta, Android 17, or even a Pride Trooper). You could even have the ending be after Cooler and Frost lose they get erased by Zeno. Just anything but him just existing as a side piece to the what if

Gohan Black Arc is legit the best thing this game gave us, you have no idea how hype it was when it got leaked and then it was actually real!! That’s what I want to see more of in DBZ Games, just entirely new characters and such. I think that’s why that Arc is just the best what if in all of Dragon Ball Video games

Gohan Black arc is definitely the best thing that ever happened to fans like me since I felt disappointed Gohan didn’t get involved in helping Trunks, Goku and Vegeta in the Future Trunks Saga. Bandai has listened to the DB community and that fan request is really a dream come true. But I am curious about what would Black/Zamasu called his Ultimate form if Goku Black has Super Saiyan Rose? Would an evolved form of Gohan's Ultimate State be called ’Divine Gohan’? And I agreed that it sucks that we never got the chance to see Gohan vs Hit when Universe 7 competes with Universe 6. It would’ve given us a hint of his new Beast form.

I also love the concept of Trunks teaming up with Android 17 and 18 in the what if story in the Tournament of Power story. I wish Bandai can find a way to merge this and Trunks teaming up with Vegeta into one.

If there is one I wish for in both the Gohan Black story and Future Trunks entering the Tournament of Power is Future Mai. I would’ve loved to see her interact with Videl in a girl talk as they watch their men spar, as well as her younger counterpart and the Pilaf Gang. And to see more of Trunks x Mai’s relationship as they discussed their plans for the future after following Whis’s advice. I do not care what people saids but Trumai is one my favorite Dragon Ball couples.

I had fun playing through these but I have to agree they're pretty bare bones. I'm also in favor of every costume we can get, gimme Ss Vegeta in his Saiyan armor and his pink shirt haha
