Gohan Black arc is definitely the best thing that ever happened to fans like me since I felt disappointed Gohan didn’t get involved in helping Trunks, Goku and Vegeta in the Future Trunks Saga. Bandai has listened to the DB community and that fan request is really a dream come true. But I am curious about what would Black/Zamasu called his Ultimate form if Goku Black has Super Saiyan Rose? Would an evolved form of Gohan's Ultimate State be called ’Divine Gohan’? And I agreed that it sucks that we never got the chance to see Gohan vs Hit when Universe 7 competes with Universe 6. It would’ve given us a hint of his new Beast form.

Maybe a bit hard to pull of and i'm not sure if this is even a good what if idea to begin with... BUT! for goku black, i have one more idea for a what if: reviving goku black and/or zamasu for the TOP instead of frieza. He could have some interesting dialouge with characters like the androids, the pride troopers and people like hit, frost or roshi. Maybe even let him team up with vegeta. Plus, it would be great to see his reactions to the other gods of destruction and zeno. And his and toppo's different views on justice and a god's duties.

@ summary at the bottom yeah but I feel like it could go into its own story about how the other universes try to assassinate him since he’s so strong it can kind of be like a mini arc where Goku still has to remember that his power does draw in opponents, and he must truly use his power in a way that will help the people around him instead of for his own personal gain kind of like a with great power comes great responsibility. He must learn how to, use his power at the right time instead of just going headfirst he must think about the people around him in a short way, he must remember the actions around them. Don’t just hurt him, but the people around him. and it can push and show us how strong before and during the tournament of power oh yeah, it could kinda be like a ark where Goku‘s not available at all like he has no way to come back without possibly making universe lose the tournament, so kinda still the, want to train the new generation and maybe get people like trunks go to and Gohan to go on Beerus’s planet show us their true potential when pushed also go to would be the strongest in the Multiverse including black freezer but I am not gonna get into that

I think what have been better is that Ultimate Gohan’s blue bio-electricity turns red and the center of his eyes gains a slight red glow. Kinda like a Beast(Sign) or something. Of course after Gohan Beast comes out, they could always update the story mode and give you the option of Gohan ignoring Goku and unlock Beast.

@@MartyN2A I can see that, unfortunately. Do you think it would have been better to have Gohan Black against Goku, who uses Super Saiyan 3 instead of 2. Like, Goku teleports like normal, because they’ll tell him and Vegeta about Future Trunks, Gohan spars with Future Trunks, and then Gohan Black appears and in a surprise twist, YOU(the player) play as Gohan Black against Goku who insists on fighting him first, to like draw out and build up the inevitable clash between Gohan and Gohan Black. Something like, I don’t know, I was thinking about things like this, that could have potentially made the story better. And then Gohan spars with Present Zamasu in the Universe 10, then when Gohan and Co. go to the future, THEN you can fight Gohan Black against Gohan, in his Ultimate State. Like, Ultimate Gohan reduces/survives against Gohan Black as a win condition, but Gohan Black still wins, due to getting use to his body better from his battle with Goku, who is Gohan’s father, but still can’t unlock Ultimate yet do to not fighting Gohan yet, but is getting there. Gohan and co. Retreat, Gohan learns the Mafuba and just add that he got a Zenkai Boost from getting beaten near death by Black. Other plans can be made to catch Gohan Black off guard, as they jump him, and incapacitate Zamasu. They almost kill Gohan Black, but Zamasu’s surprises everyone with the Kai Kai technique, which he didn’t use before or something, tanking what supposed to be the finishing blow and heals Gohan Black, which pushes him to finally unlock his Ultimate State. Then you can fight as Gohan Black again, but in his Ultimate State, and instead of doing a KI Scythe/KameHameHa combo as his Ultimate, it’s a KI Scythe/Masenko combo. Ultimate Gohan Black whoops everyone as he explains that he’s actually Zamasu, and after winning, Gohan Black reveals that he killed Videl and Pan from his timeline, which would trigger Gohan to tapping into a little of Beast’s power/Beast(Sign) and pushes Gohan Black back.

I get the ultimate gohan making it cool but like I said if you separate the association it’s just a boring lame look for gohan and im glad that in the manga they changed it to the purple gi. If there is one I wish for in both the Gohan Black story and Future Trunks entering the Tournament of Power is Future Mai. I would’ve loved to see her interact with Videl in a girl talk as they watch their men spar, as well as her younger counterpart and the Pilaf Gang. And to see more of Trunks x Mai’s relationship as they discussed their plans for the future after following Whis’s advice. I do not care what people saids but Trumai is one my favorite Dragon Ball couples.

I feel as though it was an incredibly missed opportunity to segment everyone’s story mode the way they did. They could’ve easily had one big story mode with characters changing throughout and sparking episodes opening up as you progress and beat fights in a specific way. Also the alternate costumes not being accessible is a HUGE fumble. We would’ve loved to have a SSJ Saiyan/Namek arc Vegeta or a Gohan Black playable, especially in custom battles

Yeah I think story was sort of disappointing too. The structure and the way it was handled was just sort of underwhelming and cut the flow of the story a lot, I would’ve preferred a classic bt story structure where you just swapped characters and made fights more close to the original material like the saiyan saga fight against the z warriors, instead of you know, having to change to piccolos episode then switch back to gokus and then vegetas and so on. Really a shame, the slideshows just added more salt to the wound.

In vegeta vs Cell what if, Vegeta goes Super saiyan 2 when Trunks gets shot by Cell. And while they didn't do a masenko in the mentor sparking episodr with Piccolo. They do have a mentor, student masenko with Gohan and Trunks in the gohan black what if. As for Jiren if you win with no sparking episode done then he makes a selfish wish and everyone dies. With sparking episode Jiren changes in his personality due to gis comrades helping him and master roshi talking to him. Causing him to wish everyonr back. But that what if is more character arc driven. And all goku black what ifs are just the same except they're either fused, not fused or corrupted fused. My favorite what if has got to be Gohan Black that was amazing.

They only appear in one arc and the only what if you can really do with them is what if they won. So they tried their best with what they had but yeah compared to the other what ifs the Jiren and Goku Black one were definetly at the bottom of the barrel.

And maybe with Jiren they could do somenthing that makes him show up in universe 7 early, or really just show some of his life and feats prior to super. I find the Frieza what if so frustrating because Cooler is in it...and he's absolutely wasted. It's such a tease. Cooler is a non canon character from the movies so the opportunity to see him in a what if of a canon event should be special. But he fights Hit and he sucks in his brothers What If. Yeah sure, movie wise he's weak in comparison to Super era characters but who cares?! The good version of this what if would be Cooler and Frieza fighting against Cabba, Kale, and Caulifla then Kefla as part of their weird Saiyan Revenge plan. Then Cooler teams up with Frost to betray Frieza and Frieza and a partner the player gets to choose (Goku, Vegeta, Android 17, or even a Pride Trooper). You could even have the ending be after Cooler and Frost lose they get erased by Zeno. Just anything but him just existing as a side piece to the what if

I think the Gohan Black was WAY better than the anime and manga versions of the Goku Black arc, in my opinion. Not only this made Gohan a more pragmatic character, actively preparing for the worst at the first chance he got rather than taking Beerus’s word at face value about the erasure of Zamasu like the anime, but not only did he learn the Evil Containment Wave, but actually succeeded in using the technique, which was the key factor to victory and actually saving Trunks’s timeline, saving us from another garbage, meaningless ending! This also doesn’t undermine Trunks’s theme; that together, mortals can overcome difficult odds, even if said obstacles are gods, but Zamasu almost merging with the universe, and needing Grand Zeno(the God of Gods) coming in and erasing everything, including Trunks’s home, just takes a dump on all that and made the entire arc pointless!

@ About the point of Gohan not fighting having that sparring match against Present Zamasu in Universe 10. I theorized that that was the original plan but got scrapped for some reason. Because Gohan does fight Future Zamasu as a Super Saiyan 2, even though he realistically he should have used Ultimate considering the situation and against Gohan Black considering he was the stronger one of the duo.

And it woulda added a lot to jiren's development to go from "I can be the only winner. And strive above all" to "I respect goku and all the fighters today." Or something like that. Like he'll be less of s cold character and winning would allow him to open up.

Idk if u guys remember the theory a while back but apparently it goes something like jiren represents Buddha and well goku is song wu kong. And in one of the tales song wu kon actually loses his first fight with buddha and gains a lesson in the end.

Much like the first of Trunk’s what ifs you mention Jirens path serves as a good alternate ending to the saga, and would’ve made Jiren a decent character if it had happened. Goku Blacks is just yapping about mortals, and “then they won”. Not even shwoing him fight against other universes or anything like that. Clear bottom, not even interchangeable.

Though the story mode is disappointing. What I am pretty excited about is the next installment to the sparking line. Since they likely spent most of their time on the mechanics and gameplay during development of Sparking zero, and with the game’s mechanics only needing polishing with a few patches down the line, the next release can really allow developers to focus on a proper story mode just like the 2nd tenkaichi with elements from the 3rd and then some to really amp up the game. All speculation but with a lot of the heavy and time consuming development work out of the way now, sparking’s next game could be the best one yet.
