I remember when he got told, “Fuck off now mate while you still can,” at a pub gig out Harlsden way. I can't believe how much this one comedy routine has entered the public consciousness. The number of people on my FB feed who are glammed up with the comment, "We went out out" without any need to refernce Micky Flannagan's original sketch. Everyone just knows what they mean. Out-out has just gone into the popular lexicon without question or fanfare. Micky Flannagan's great contribution to the English language. When he dies on his gravestone it'll say "He only popped out..."

Standard conversation here in Ireland really "A dress is what you wear to work, if you are going out out you wear a dress dress, and for dinner is whatever is in the fridge, but dinner dinner is going to a restaurant, then you wear a dress dress to go out out for dinner dinner.... Going home is to your own house but going back to your parents house is home home. Common sense really.....and when you finally go out, you have 5 or 6 pints deciding if you are going to bother drinking....
