I only have ever used Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales to get my $47-a-bag cat food at a significant savings. I can save hundreds that way. I don’t buy junk though. I love thrifting my clothes and am currently “minimizing” as well. It all makes me happy.

With all the money people spend on crap, cheap tchotckes, and junk, they could spend money on one nice set of dishes, glassware and sterling utensils to eat on and have money left over. Buy a Toyota and maintain it rather than go into debt for a money pit like an Audi, Benz, or BMW.

Hello - may I ask what the shelf life of this is compared to someone who would use ACV?
@mountainroseherbsКүн бұрын
Hi there, great question! Glycerites have a shelf life of around 12-24 months when kept in a sealed container in a cool, dark place. ACV extracts have a somewhat shorter shelf life of about 6-12 months when stored under the same conditions. We hope this helps!

I think I could make this with what I have, even if I don't have everything, almonds, walnuts, dates, shredded carrots, golden raisons, coconut, chia seeds, cinnamon, ginger.
@mountainroseherbs6 күн бұрын
You absolutely could make some tasty snack bars with those ingredients! The key is getting the texture broken down just enough to where you can pack it down tightly to avoid a crumbly texture. If your dough seems a bit too dry, add 1 tsp. of water at a time and pulse until combined. 🥕

Why wouldn't the red yarrow be less medicinal than the white?
@mountainroseherbs8 күн бұрын
Hi there! The white and pink varieties of yarrow contain a naturally higher concentration of the active component responsible for yarrow's medicinal value, which allows these varieties to be more effective than others. We hope this information is helpful to you!

Is it bad if mine is still brown after melting the beeswax?
@mountainroseherbs8 күн бұрын
Hi there! The oil mixture combined with the melted beeswax will still be dark in color until the salve is fully hardened. Depending on the type of carrier oils you use, the melted salve mixture will range in color (like the blue/green hue featured in the video), so as long as the browning is not a result of burnt or rancid carrier oils, don't worry too much about the color before the hardening stage. We hope this helps!

I just made this and I put it in the refrigerator for the 30 days as i don't have a cool place anywhere else in the house. Plus i will see it daily and remember to give it a shake. I hope that will work okay. I'm looking forward to using the fire cider along with elderberry I've been taking for years in the fall and winter months. Thanks very much for the recipe!

would this method work with tallow???
@mountainroseherbs8 күн бұрын
Hi there! We don't use tallow in our recipes, so we cannot speak to whether or not this method would be successful with tallow. Since tallow has a very unique fat profile, we'd recommend seeking out DIY recipes intended specifically for tallow.

VERY INFORMATIVE AND SHE PRESENTED IT VERY WELL. DOES THIS TREE GROW ONLY IN THE WEST COAST?
@mountainroseherbs8 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for the kind words! The variety of Douglas fir featured in this video, coastal Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) is native and thrives best in moist, mild climates on the west coast. The counterpart to coastal Douglas fir, Rocky Mountain Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga macrocarpa), would be more likely to be found and/or introduced outside of the PNW region, as it is far more cold tolerant than coastal Douglas fir.
@richtomlinson709019 күн бұрын
I've never heard of it being called Blue Spruce, but i have heard the term Oregon Pine. One question. Which variety is more commonly used as Christmas tree stock on the east coast. Do they use the giant variety or the smaller of the Douglas Firs. Ours never seem to get too big, but that may be the climate conditions and beneficial organisms in the soil.
@mountainroseherbs8 күн бұрын
Hi there, great question! The most common variety of Douglas fir trees sold for Christmas trees is typically coastal Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), as it grows faster than Rocky Mountain Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga macrocarpa). However, both varieties of Douglas fir can be sold as Christmas trees, so it'd be best to ask the farmer which specific variety of Doulgas fir they grow and harvest.

I love the variation using beet root powder, brilliant for more nutrition. Looking at the pouring and cupful of this mixture, are you suggesting to drink it 'straight up' and how many ounces is that cup? Daily, as a preventative? I use the strained herbs again adding ACV let it set for another month and strain and then I use it for my salads. After straining I add it to my compost. :0)

Hi there! Due to FDA regulations, we are not able to provide dosage recommendations. However, fire cider is typically sipped in small quantities to support digestion, immunity, and overall wellness. Due to the potent nature of fire cider, it is not recommend to drink large quantities at a time. We hope this helps!

I have a question which may or may not make sense...I was taught that water should never be introduced to the oil becauae of the risk of bacteria growth...if we use 100 proof vodka (which is 50% alcohol and 50% water) wont that increase the tendency for unwanted "nasties"?? Does the heat make the moisture dissipate? Just a concern of mine...thank you.
@mountainroseherbs20 күн бұрын
Hi there! You are correct that when water and oil alone are combined, it can be a breeding ground for bacteria and mold growth. However, the addition of alcohol kills off and prevents bacterial and mold growth. We hope this helps!
