Guys i got it! how to off the NVDA. At the right side down of icon {HIDDEN ICON }option in that NVDA will show. Make a click on the NVDA symbol and click exit then click yes. Then it will ask another time make yes on that ,If u want to on make click on NVDA on the desktop.

I do Insert + Q then enter when the quit dialogue box comes up. Sometimes it goes off the rails or it might be that I've accidentally hit Insert plus 1 which toggles on input help which subverts the keyboard keys as it will just voice the key you picked and say what it does....need to then hit insert plus 1 again to toggle that off.

Quick question, are there any Ivona,, Accapella, Cepstral, odd cast, or any other tts voices from go animate, that you can use with NVDA or any screen reader for windows free of charge,, if so, can you please post the link,

Hello, i really like the instruction videos on nvda and there are not enough in my opinion. I have a question after i created a configuration profile for notepad only i can not seem to get one setting right. When i type i hear letter by letter cause i have that turned on , i also have turned on speak each word after its typed. Now when i press enter at the end of a sentence i hear nothing until i arrow back up and then only it reads the whole sentence. Is there a setting that will speak the whole sentence right after i press enter instead of arrowing up and down each time. I would just like to keep typing and hear what i typed. OK, now I have a bit of a problem. Whenever I hit Ctrl plus alt plus and for the hot key does launch NVDA, or to unload it, it loads right back up. Keep in mind that I have not restarted my Windows 10 PC after the install. I will do that now, letting you know what happens. Keep in mind, I am also using jaws for windows. everything seems to have loaded fine, but the issue I described still happens. What is going on, and how can I shut NVDA down while using jaws? although I had NVDA run from the logon screen, jaws overrode that. It also starts from the logon screen. I guess, the fish and the whatever NVDA is won’t work nicely together. so, the shark wins my vote. Every time, every day. However, I do like that NVDA has an echoing mouse, so that’s good. I will have to have somebody with site, though, figure out if what NVDA is pointing at and saying to me is really what the mouse is pointing at. That would be great, as hopefully, I can try using a mouse whenever I’m using NVDA. another thing I don’t like about NVDA, is there is no start up wizard as in jaws. At least, you don’t get all the features and that start up wizard, like mouse echo. It’s just automatic, and that’s probably not the best idea for someone who is just learning how to use a screen reader.

Thank you for helping me install this software. I hear that it’s open source, but I need to try something out for my assistive technology course in college. I of course am using draws to download the software, and I’m using Windows 10. Although I cannot see, your video has helped me so far to get NVDA installed.

I use n v d a at work, and it works beautifully and I'm currently advocating for nvda to be downloaded onto a computer in the vestal library.

I feel so much empathy for blind people now. I'm taking a course on accesible web development because I thought it's a bare minimum to know how to make other people enjoy these web experiences as well. I just barely downloaded this screen reader and I see some things that need to be changed about it. One of those is that it needs to have a more simpler way to toggle it on and off? When you have to hit the insert key and the N key you have to take your hands off of the home keys and this is difficult. If you could hold the Control and the F key to turn it on and the control key and the J key down this would keep your fingers on the home keys and not get lost? The other thing is that it would be nice if this program had a quick toggle feature that would live on the taskbar near the clock where you can click it even if the NVDA software was on or off and when your mouse hovers over that specific icon it wold speak and you could turn it on or off plus this feature would be good for people with low vision who can see something and it would give the ability to allow a person to either select the test for one moment and it would read only what is selected, place a box around a paragraph or heading and only read what is within that box, or even it can read each word that the mouse is hovering over by opening the box after opening the icon by the clock on the taskbar and holding the Control key down and selecting the option in the box that popped up from the clock area with your mouse on how you want the text to be read while using your mouse and still holding the control key down? This would allow a single word to be read out loud that you need for a short period of time but you still are reading most of the text with your eyes? If you the creator of this video see this please pass this onto the software developer?

I understand the concept; however, the original font and size which you are using was too small to see. Even what I am typing is a little small for my visual issues. I can you the Mac and get to font and size easily. So when you demonstrate font and size use a larger font and a clear font. I usually type my letters with 14. I could not even see you choice of font from the list. I am sitting approximately 2 feet from the screen. I am repeating: I would like this larger than medium for everything on my computer.
