The “jealous” part was because Walter was engaged to Lara Fabian and she was kinda envy of Celine. Walter has said Lara even tried to sound like Celine. At that time Mariah was working with JD, Babyface and was never exclusive to Walter so it just don’t make sense.

To me, I Only Wanted is a thousand times better than After Tonight. Neither of them are My All, but IOW is beautiful and AT is her worst non-holiday album ballad, which is an opinion that Ill forever defend. Charmbracelet is no. 5 or 6 for me in the album ranking depending on the day

Great video. I love the David Morales collabs with Mariah so much. I wish they would go back to work together. That being said, Mariah had already re-recorded her vocals from Emotions for the C+C Music Factory remixes, so Dreamlover was not the first time she did that.

I just realized this song is really hard because it's too low in the chorus, too belty in the climax, the verse is like rapping with melody. Unpopular Opinion: this song is harder than We Belong Together.

My opinion is that this album is let down, in parts, by its production Where Emancipation feels timeless, incorporating classic RnB sounds, E=MC2 feels very much of its time, and to me, hasn’t aged well

Walter had a contract with Sony. He couldn’t leave, even if he wanted to. I believe Walter would have preferred to work with Mariah over anyone else because of their history. However, him being under the control of Sony, it was never going to happen. Sony really tried to ruin Mariah but she’s an amazing song writer and vocalist, a true artist!! I’m happy for her❤

You're not qualified, but you're happy to badmouth a guy you never met. She wasn't a teenager; Mariah was 23 yrs old. not in highschool, nobody lived in the big, furniture factory, Bedworks; Ben's father Richard had in Chelsea NYC. Mariah had an apartment; so did Ben. Ben's lawyer designed the contract, not Ben, and it cost a lot. His generative role was the issue, the fragility of musical associations was well accounted for, when people are often left without reward. The contract was the equivalent of a marital "prenup". When Tommy Mottola decided to grab her; he made her dump Ben for Male competitive reasons. Ben was seriously wounded creatively in the process, Mariah dumped Tommy, but never returned. In retrospect, he's been suffering from PTSD ever since. It made him quite the cynic. Can't imagine it did much for Tommy's wife, either.
