We have a similar issue with our rosey lovebird. Same thing hitten by a fan and I'm in wonder how to help

Hi Frances. How is your bird doing? Your baby bird should adapt just fine to being one-legged. The only advice I can offer is to make sure that the bird has an accessible cage environment and that she can get around in it easily. If possible, don’t clip her wings. That will give her greater mobility.

How is he doing? Did he survive his amputation? My dove just had hers removed today. The surgery was hard on her, she didn't do well with the anesthesia. She's staying over night, I should pick her up tomorrow. Can you give me any advice on recovery? I love her so much!!

A Advice Who Was very important for him, go to the clinic visit him and speak with him Every day 5 minutes ( not very long because she need to sleep) and believe veryyyyy much on him. Hi Sophie! My apologies for not seeing your comment sooner. From your more recent post, it sounds like Leopold has recovered from his amputation and doing well. I’m delighted to hear that! One-legged birds can live remarkably well, even in the wild. I saw a post on Facebook from someone here in Florida who had a one-legged Painted Bunting visiting his bird feeder last winter. He was delighted to report that the bird returned again this month!
