The 10 speed makes a difference on even slow car cars they become faster

3.6 with no turbos is good but complicated. Variable this and that using solenoids for maybe 2 more mpg. Will it last 300,000 miles like my 5.7. A non turbo straight or v6 would last but the government doesn’t like that

@@TuffHaeTuff no a rear main seal is completely different. However sometimes people mistake the oil cooler leak for a rear main seal leak because of where it drips down the engine and ends up under the car. At first glance it can appear like a rear main seal.

How much do you feel the trailing arms and bushings have helped your times? I have a 2013 RT super track pack with a six speed and similar modifications to yours. Just bought a set of 17 inch race stars and I’m thinking about doing the rear cradle lockout and trailing arms
@TrackPackRT14 күн бұрын
@@PeterMueller-gj9st big time. Before I put in the whiteline cradle bushings my car used to wheel hop so bad it sounded like the tires were about to pound right through the floor boards. Only a matter of time before I broke something bad. Since I put them in the car launches flat, and if I spin, it’s smooth. No wheel hop.

I really like your channel brother. I picked up a ‘23 Charger RT Blacktop 5.7 and I love it. Only thing I’ve done so far is a Borla ATAK exhaust and it sounds killer. I am talking to a guy right now about Kooks Long tubes, cooler plugs and thermostat and after seeing this vid I feel it will get me where I want to be. I agree with you on the 5.7 being slept on. It’s a blast to drive and sounds great. I don’t understand why all the hate. I drove a couple scats and they are definitely quicker but there is just something special about this 5.7.
@TrackPackRT16 күн бұрын
@@robertalsbury thank you sir. Headers really wake the 5.7 up, very noticeable difference. I’ll warn you though it might give you the modding bug.
@robertalsbury16 күн бұрын
@ lol. I hear ya. I’ve already got the bug. I was going to upgrade to a scat. Actually test drove one today. Because I put so much down on my RT and haven’t owned it long. It wouldn’t cost me that much to switch (5-6k). But like I say, I love my car. I also had Katzkin custom leather put in it, so with Katzkin and Borla I’m already $4k into it. Adding another $6k would out me $10k out of pocket and I don’t want to do that. Honestly driving the scat compared to the RT 0-60 I really didn’t feel too much difference and I’m not racing or anything. So I’m just gonna throw long tube headers on it with a tune and call it a day. Maybe I’ll get a cam later 😄

I owned a 2013 JKU with a 3.6 until an illegal border crosser decided he wanted to meet me head on. The 3.6 is oil deprived and has dry starts ever time you turn the key. It eventually will kill your rockers. What are your thoughts about this issue that makes the 3.6 UNrwliable and costly to repair unless you rip into it yourself. What's your remedy for y his also? By the way... the rental I drove when my jku was being inspected and totalled by the insurance company was a Challenger GT and I loved it. Got a lot of head turns from high school kids when I would go pick up my son and the ladies at the grocery stored liked it too :-).
@TrackPackRT19 күн бұрын
Honestly I don't think the 3.6 is unreliable at all. I do know that the oil filter has a one way valve in it that is supposed to keep the oil from draining to prevent a dry start. Although occasionally it happens that the rocker arm problem pops up, they really aren't that common on these, unlike the oil coolers which were pretty much guaranteed to need to be replaced. My good friend is a tech at a pretty busy shop. He said he often sees 3.6s that need oil cooler replacement. Every so often he'll see one that has rocker arm problems, but not that common. I do feel like it's very over blown on the internet when you look at how many millions of these engines are produced vs how many actually have that problem. For the record mine is at 283,000kms and is still running flawlessly. I haven't really done anything to it except keep up with my oil changes put good oil and mopar filters in it.

I see it still hops a bit even with the subframe lockouts, just the nature of the manual I guess. Some aired down drag radials and easing off the clutch instead of dropping it might get you the 60ft you need. 1.7's would help your times quite a bit. I'm used to the NAG1 where the 60ft is the easy part haha.

Yea you auto guys have it really easy with that torque converter putting it down off the launch! Definitely the ideal setup for drag racing. I don't have a lockout but whiteline cradle bushings. It doesn't hop anymore but does shutter a little as I start my burnouts before I get the rpm a little higher. That's the best I can describe it anyway. Tires aren't coming off the ground at least, they used to sound like they were going to pound right through the inside of the car it was so bad before!

I stumbled onto 2013 R/T Classic because I liked it better than my trade-in. An astute comment about the auto transmissions is you can feel gear changes as a deliberate event in the five speed. Eight speed gear changes are modern smooth and "behind the scenes". I like the throwback feel of my five speed. I recently discovered the Kilduff replacement shifter, changing the paddle shift to forward-aft movement. It is a clever bit of work, machining a stock shifter base to take a radically different set of handles that activate the OEM functions.

I always wonder why Chrysler always stuck with the plastic oil cooler, It’s not a matter if it’s going to fail, it is going to fail like so many mechanics say, you put plastic with hot oil running through it in the middle of an engine that doesn’t make sense and they made 10 million of these, you would have thought they would’ve switched it over to an all aluminum one like so many people buy from Dorman. Is it just to get people coming back to the dealer to have their work done at the dealership, to replace these oil coolers.

I have an '18 Pacifica. Only engine option is Pentastar 3.6L V-6. There is a lot of hate of the engine on the Pacifica user forum. Lots of complaints about head gasket failures. I love the engine and believe the issues Pacifica owners are having are all related to poor maintenance. I'm going out on a limb here and assert that most minivan owners do not do their own oil changes, but instead take them to quick lube places where the techs crack the oil cooler housing when they tighten the oil filter cap. And minivan owners are less inclined to open the hood in their garage to check oil and coolant levels. And they buy the cheapest coolant they can find to top off the reservoir (if they top it off at all) not knowing they were supposed to buy OAT coolant, but got non_OAT instead. The wrong stuff can eat head gaskets. And they don't read the owner's manual to find out what service is required when. Poor Pentastar. It just isn't fair.
