Well I'm pleased that riding on top of a dyke didn't involve the perils it would if you did it in Scotland. I was a bit puzzled when you took those Dutch roundabouts on the left 🤔🙄 I'd be sure to end up on the wrong side of a road at some point, even if just through muscle memory. Full credit to you for riding for days through various countries, just to get to where you want to be.
@blearyview22543 күн бұрын
Evening Michael, your comment is two days old and it just appeared. It felt really easy to ride on the otherside and much easier on the bike. I found it a lot more of a challenge in a car , mainly due to the left hand drive.

More quiet roads and deserted towns, very strange, was there some big football thing going on? No point recording miles of boring roads on umpteen cameras, I can see the advantage of a 360 camera in that situation. Thanks Alex, we'll soon be in Norway 👍
@blearyview22546 күн бұрын
Hi Mick, it was too early in the day for the football so no idea why it was so quiet. The 360 excelled in this situation and did not matter if it rained because it waterproof, I used the 360 the most but it more work when editing. Day 5 sees me arrive in Norway so a wee while yet but there a bit more to see in next week's video.

Going to be interesting to see which route you take to get to Norway. Any language issues along the way?
@blearyview22546 күн бұрын
Hello 2WV, day 3 was a decent ride through nice locations avoiding motorways and even involved another ferry but that for next week. No issues at all, English is the universal language and everyone spoke at least some. That is why us Brits are lazy and never learn to speak anything else.
@tojj297 күн бұрын
I'm with you Al, I actually prefer riding a bike on the right hand side of the road. Loved it in France, especially as the locals are so considerate in letting bikes go past them. That place with the canal looked absolutely beautiful, and the hotel looked a good find, especially for £80. Don't get a lot for that kinda money these days. I'm very envious of you getting away over there, must've been brilliant.
@blearyview22547 күн бұрын
Morning Nige, it does feel different how the locals treat bikes but the thing I am most impressed with are the Dutch roads. They are in great condition and the way they are set up with lanes and the roundabouts means you are unlikely to get cut up. The hotels I stayed in were of good quality, the only exception was the last night where the place really needed some TLC, in saying that, it was clean and had everything needed.

That Dyke is as you say a great piece of engineering. I believe a Dam has water on both sides and a Dyke has water on only one side. That was a decent place to rest for the night to recharge your batteries for the next leg of the tour. Cheers
@blearyview22546 күн бұрын
Morning Joe, never knew that about Dan/Dyke but makes sense. The Dutch refer to this one as a Dyke and it has water on both sides, a strange one but a stunning piece of engineering they are rightly proud of. It is a must have for me to find a decent place to stay after long hours on the bike. I could never camp (certainly not at my age) and take my hat off to those who do.

That looked like a fairly painless ride to the ferry Alex, decent weather and no trauma getting around Edinburgh. Good start 👍
@blearyview22548 күн бұрын
Morning Mick, yes indeed it was the easiest ride around the Edinburgh ring road, in fact it was fairly enjoyable. I got to say I had good fortune with the traffic for most of the tour, the exceptions being Bremen and Flensburg in Germany where the traffic was heavy.

Hi Alec, good to see you back, hope the European trip was good (apart from thunderstorms). Sitting here suffering from withdrawal symptoms, bike in the dealers waiting for parts. Turned out to be a wiring problem and a replacement wiring loom is on backorder and not expected till the end of August. Summers been a total loss as far as riding is concerned, planning to have a few short trips away for a break although not by bike. Have ordered a new Insta360 One X4 camera and remote and should have it by tomorrow.

The X4 looks like a decent upgrade and will be interesting to see some of the output, I used my X2 extensively on the trip and have some great video although there is a huge amount of work to edit it into something watchable. The trip was wonderful and had great weather while in Norway which is the main thing.

Oh you unshaved hooligan bike thug you, how dare you park up outside the poshest of posh prep schools ( there are quite a few locally), then have the audacity to try to commune with the local eccentrics 😂 I did the same route with Mrs Wolf last year, minus the start at the school for predestined kids. I'm surprised you didn't show the views from the brow of the hill just before the windmills 😯. Shadow banned eh, must be fraternising with the local Bad boy, now I wonder who that could be 🤔😏🐺 TAYM's commented on my last few videos but they remain invisible to me. Just a little personal thought but I found that particular transition detracted from the views I was trying to see either side.
