This is the story of my adventure crossing Netherlands, Germany and Denmark heading for my destination in Norway.
I travel from my home in Dundee to Newcastle where the ferry will take my Honda NT1100 and me to Amsterdam to begin my motorcycle journey to Norway. Join me as I document my motorcycle trip journal on an adventure of a lifetime.

Hello Alex, I too am a solo biker, only done UK trips up to now, I really like your patient easy going filming and commentary, lovely editing. I am hoping to go to Denmark/Norway next year on my recently purchased CB500X ( 6400 miles on it when I bought it) my last bike was a CBR 1000F which was 30 years ago! I decided on something smaller and easier to handle as I am now a lot older and retiring in a few years. Keep up the great work, sub added, ride safe

Morning Dave, thanks for the sub and appreciate the lovely feedback. I was also away from biking for over 30 years and loving every minute since i came back. The CB500x is an excellent bike to tour on and can highly recommend Norway, it such a stunning environment to enjoy the bike and the people are very friendly. There still a few more videos of the trip to come.

Wonderful to see you heading off on your travels and to catch a glimpse of Mrs BV and yourself as an inset. This should be great to watch over the next weeks - perhaps month or three 😉

That looked like a fairly painless ride to the ferry Alex, decent weather and no trauma getting around Edinburgh. Good start 👍

Morning Mick, yes indeed it was the easiest ride around the Edinburgh ring road, in fact it was fairly enjoyable. I got to say I had good fortune with the traffic for most of the tour, the exceptions being Bremen and Flensburg in Germany where the traffic was heavy.

Morning Alex, a good start to your journey, the A1 makes sense as you were heading to Newcastle for the ferry but I prefer the A68 when heading south. Coincidentaly i am watching this in a hotel room in Newcastle at the moment. The train down is not as good as riding down would be but at least I got away for a short break.
@blearyview2254

Morning Jim, my thinking as just to get there as missing the ferry would be disaster. But the A68 is way better. I have done Newcastle on the train a few times and you are spot on when you say the bike is better. Hopefully you will get your bike back asap.

Nice video, always very interested to see your route and the ferry information. Funnily enough my other half and I just went that route a couple of weeks ago, but we were off down to IWM Duxford and a few of the other war museums on that trip.

Brilliant start to the tour Alex, I see you have the Android Auto up and running, what dongle are you using. I have mine installed under my seat and was curious as to there you have yours installed for the journey. I do like the look of the NT 1100 all packed up, and for sure the bike will love this type of riding. See you in the next one. Cheers

@@blearyview2254 also have one in my car and works flawlessly there. And on the bike as long as you start your headset first then turn on bike works good with the odd time I have to turn bike on and off again but once connected very good never gone off once connected. A very minor thing which Is not an issue to me for the benefit it gives.
