I have not yet explored the Greenway. But I'm getting a trike for my bday 🎂 🥳 this month, and hope to take it there to ride and enjoy Spring weather. Anybody know what trike/bike laws are around here? 🤔 I will have to figure it out.

this is a scam for the state to take more property.... most the land they steal from the owners by inaccurate surveyor and appraisers......... what your mayor is not saying is the land taken is also designated to be used for a railroad ( probably high speed later)

Billy Herman was a great uncle of mine and I loved hearing his baseball stories. I will be putting a visit to this park named after him on my list to visit for sure. HOF 1975.

I wish they hadn't did away with the cards to find what I was looking for when they went to the computers. I could find just about anything with the cards, the computers it seem like you had to know the author of the book you was looking for.

Until today 10/04/2019, didn't know about these stores, lived in the area all my life. Good thing about this being on You Tube. I still don't know where Underground Station is.

There is a group called "Save the monon" on Facebook who are trying to save the line to run a tourist train from New Albany to Bedford.

Please no. I’d rather have passenger service brought back to the former Monon line way better that a trail and you don’t have to worry about random people on your property from the trail that money should go to preserve the Monon line as it has historical value especially to Hoosiers even if it’s just a couple time a month for passenger service it would be cool to ride on the former Monon railroad.

Sure, it would be awesome....and it will never happen. This is a realistic alternative and much better than letting the route sit and rot.

the people who run this city are so obsessed with this "historic" crap. that's why new albany hasn't progressed very much even in the last 30 years or so. you're so proud of these minor accomplishments that should have happened YEARS ago. how cute. state street still looks like crap btw. progress is not your enemy here. sorry for the harsh words, but i'm tired of seeing my (birth) city looking nearly exactly as it did back in like, 1992 ! visit midtown manhattan for a week and then i dare you to get back to me on how great you think new albany is. most of new albany is a joke...

This 'improvement' has destroyed Main Street! The bicycle lane was removed... setting progress back 10 years. The street was narrowed and darkened jeopardizing the lives of anyone venturing out of their houses after dark and the medians that were put in, while attractive, completely eliminate the ability of a driver to avoid a pet or a child who may have strayed into the street. Very scarey drive now.. it used to be enjoyable.
@maggiehelton462411 жыл бұрын
I don't consider it an improvement to the quality of life when you cut down almost every single tree along this corridor! It seems to be the only way New Albany can deal with any improvement to to do the un-green thing. Doesn't walkable include shade and oxygen.

as a child I grew up in station (headquarters) when it was on spring street across from the old tribune (newspaper) my father was a fireman in the 1930 and forties, i would like to talk with anyone who was around the fire house in the 1940' or 50th's or has some memories of it, currently i am writing a book about a young kid growing up in a small river town. Someone noticed in a private group I am in called "You know you're from New Albany If" that in this video it says, "Light up the Holiday Tree, and not the Christmas Tree" Their comment also said how very disappointed they were of their Hometown for doing this... Not once was Christmas ever mentioned on this video, it seems as though CHRIST was removed.from the city of New Albany in this video..... Someone else responded and said that this seems to be the Norm because when they had worked for the Post Office in New Albany they were told they had to replace Merry Christmas with Happy Holidays. It is so sad that this is the norm but it doesn't have to be..... I too worked for a Postal Service in the small town of West Point, KY. as a Casual Mail Carrier and I also worked at the school there in West Point as a Special Ed. Instructional Assistant but never once was I told that I had to leave Christ out of Christmas by having to say Happy Holidays. This is the town I moved to when I left New Albany. No offense to New Albany, but this is why in many ways, I am glad that I moved and raised my children in a small town that still keeps Christ in Christmas. Even though West Point School is an Independant School, they could have said "We are going to do as everyone else does and change this Christmas Season to Happy Holidays" But they haven't and they even have prayer in that school. That's what's wrong with our Schools & Post Offices these days, they won't allow Christ in them anymore..... Now to see my Hometown follow suit....How sad!!! Just giving my opinion. Judy Hood
