My grandpa used to use one of these! He always told a story about how his company made the first US Army "approved" hollywood simulation of a hand grenade. Basically the US Army was financing a film and they wanted a realistic hand grenade based on how a real grenade looked when filmed. so, they went to my grandpa's company who specialized in custom pyrotechnics (and also had a Fastax) and they gave my grandpa a few real hand grenades to film at high speed. the idea was that they would then build a pyrotechnic device that produced the same amount of fire but without the lethal shrapnel or concussion. my grandpa severely underestimated the power of a real hand grenade (he was Navy and had never used one) and when he set it off, it completely destroyed his test rig, and it threw the blast shield in front of the Fastax backwards, knocking the camera quite some distance away. the film was not destroyed though, and they were able to complete their project lol. its not even a footnote in cinema history though because apparently the new pyrotechnic device they made wasn't that different from the existing ones and wasn't as visually exciting as the huge fireballs hollywood normally uses, so everyone just stuck with the existing methods that were technically inaccurate

actually it can windows 11 also... i used rufus usb tool and i installed windows 11 on my dell vostro 230 that i got for free from my old boss, i did install it on a ssd though for speed btw its the core 2 quad one with a nvidia gforce gt 430 1gb with 4 gb of ram

What is the highest video resolution this machine will record at? I assume it does standard NTSC 640x480, but is it capable of higher resolutions? Thanks!

Hi! This has analog output so it is really not measured in pixels. I believe it puts out 450TV lines horizontally and 350TV lines vertically. (Really close the digital equivalent of 640x480) To convert the signal to digital you would need a video converter.

I am wondering if I might use this projector in conjunction with this new software which is capable of up-Rezing the footage to 1920 x 1440., Apparently it uses AI technology so it’s not simply an increase in pixels. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHSTYnaEos2oqbc

@@obscuretech9360 One final question, I presume that this uses a 3:2 pull down method of transfer? In other words some frames have mixed fields? I would guess there is no way to get progressive frames (no mixed field frames?)

@@peliculasperdidasyencontra5059 I've been following some of the info on the Topaz software too and it looks like it might do a great job. I have not had the time to explore it myself, but plan too soon. It might be an interesting test to download some sample video from Prelinger Archives and test the software. archive.org/details/prelinger Since the projection to the video sensor is strictly mechanical in nature I believe there would be no way to get no mixed frames. These telecine projectors use a 5 blade shutter to get the additional frames but since there is no projector digital adjustment of the images or signal I assume you are going to get what you get frame wise.

You download the Windows 10 media creation tool. It is free from Microsoft. Here is a link. www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 You will want to have a thumb drive ready to put Windows 10 files on. You can chose 64 bit when you create the USB. Microsoft will let you activate 64 bit Windows with the original 32 bit COA if needed. Hope this helps!

Hi! I took a look at the specs on your Vostro 200 and it is pretty slow to handle Windows 10. I do not see any specific reason Windows 10 would not load though. Did the computer originally come with WIndows 7 or WIndows Vista? If it shipped with Windows Vista Microsoft will not allow for the free upgrade to Windows 10.

Well, that's your problem! :) Microsoft will only upgrade Windows 7 and WIndows 8 to Windows 10.
