Tyla is the “America” of the music industry: Proud of her heritage, exponential fame (power for America) in a short amount of time, conservative yet provocative , try to play nice but there is something nasty about her that yall cannot pinpoint and it’s bc it’s energetic. She has the energetic remnants of apartheid separatism/elitism/racism. Y’all can’t catch it bc you’re looking at her tiny ass and beauty Same reason why everybody hate America is why they hate Tyla: she’s that girl right now. She has unearned power and fame and then she’s beautiful on top of that. She has unfair advantage just like America especially considering her voice is will never give me goosebumps from its power. You know she is where she is bc how she looks and that bothers people lol and that’s okay. But if she wasn’t as gorgeous as she is in the face, I promise you she’d get no play. Y’all hate America and especially African Americans but yall pluck yall whole style from us. We decide what’s cool GLOBALLY-no other culture does and that’s facts. Tyla over her dancing on our stages with influence from our music bc she ain’t making bread in South Africa like she would make in America. You ALL are copies, remember that. The group that birthed hip hop R&B, rap will never be duplicated. Remember who yall borrowing from. One false move yall can have her back SA, PERIOD.

Americans need to know Africans are raised different , we have cultures & values as a Young lady you cant dance sexually with an old man & Usher is too old to be doing those things with her. That's called respect and you are representing your elders when you are out there.

Exactly! This whole beef has been xenophobic. From the beginning, Kendrick went out of his way to make this about Drake being Canadian. Took several shots at Toronto and Canada, as a whole, unprovoked. It's only when he saw the backlash that he tried to clean it up by saying he was only talking about Drake, but anyone with eyes can see that's bullshit. Also, anyone from Toronto/Canada cosigning this has zero dignity. Y'all are so desperate to be included that you'll allow others to disrespect you for a crumb of validation

everyone is entitled to their opinions and feelings but yall really lost me at "being Canadian siding with Kendrick is basically like being a Trump supporter"😞. For anyone reading not from here: there is a reason why 80% of Toronto said "you're on your own broski" in regards to Drake's personal dramas. if you google and read the lyrics right now "Not like us" only applies if the shoe fits. I am not a Jabroni, I never groomed anyone, I have no insecurity about my city so that shoe don't fit ME, that song has no effect on me🤣i'm supposed to be mad at Kendrick while fighting for children's food programs in toronto to not be shut down by city councillors? i'm trying to help parents keep their apartments because we are being priced out of affordable housing for yutes like Adin Ross to move here as an experiment...but Not Like Us is supposed to bother me??? if anyone in the scenario is getting heat from me it's the man who texts innocentK "we bun skin" these things have actual harm on our city im sorry I'm going to funerals for innocent people taken out by the same crashout the men mentioned in the song empower.....but i'm supposed to hate DEMAR DEROZAN?? I know women in wheelchairs cause of these same men we are supposed to defend from Kendrick..... i'm never gonna switch up on Demar who supports the eff out of our poor people. he left 5 years ago and still supports Toronto's mental health crisis more than rich people FROM here😭

I agree having this energy for Ontario place would actually have saved it before the 800 trees got cut down. These are very solid points
@elikyaa5 күн бұрын
That analogy was perfect. Why would you as a Canadian support an artist that repeatedly went out of his way to mock someone for being from your own country... As in being Canadian was the whole insult. The cognitive dissonance that people like you keep using to distance yourselves from this situation is ridiculous. There's a reason why Argentina's team said Not Like Us after Canada's Copa America loss or that references kept being made to it during the Olympics. Everyone with common sense knows that this beef was anti-Canadian but people like you don't see it because you don't want to see it.

1. BIG UP DEMAR DEROZAN!! Most people here still and always will support him. He inspired a LOT of youth here to become good yutes and that's why our street artists are supporting him. Alicia is wayyy too angry at Demar saying he should've been boo'd and jumped after the game....what are we talking about?!?!?! Idk how some people in the city were very upset at the "yall didn't deserve him" line only to prove him right and sh*t on Demar for months now even getting excited at the thought of him being harmed.... 2. Drake IS a goofball for talking bout "I'LL TEAR THE BANNER DOWN" while never ever having that energy for Doug Ford. We got Jancro Ford trying to end us since 2018. Where is the "ill tear that Ontario place or Science Centre wall down!!".?? He's allowed to be upset with Demar and have his meltdown and Toronto is allowed to say "we dgaf" until Drake starts to care about things that actually harm people outside himself. There is real issues Toronto needs a voice to help with...Drake needs a real HOOD Toronto advisor that isn't badmind like the gway boys to help fix his PR. A LOT of people in our own city find this wack especially community leaders. It's not a "we want drake to fail" thing we have valid complaints bout the boy. Not everyone who disagrees with thinking it's cool is a kendrick "bot" 3. Optics DO matter. Demar takes pride in being a professional man with a good image from his city who cares about violence and mental health. If a lightskin man from the city I play basketball in accuses a good black man I know IRL of beating his wife and having a "you not the father" moment...especially if I know ALL the people involved... I am going to stand in that music video. I'm sure Marlon would do the same if Femi or another friend had the same thing pulled on them🤷🏿♀ Unless Demar gets on camera and says "I hate Toronto" "the way you all say mans is ignorant" I will never stop defending him
@in6ishminutes7 күн бұрын
Honestly my jaw dropped at some of the things said in this episode 😫 I really hope a clip doesn't circulate or people are gonna think all of Toronto feels this way. I'm still gonna watch future episodes but I'm gonna start skipping Demar segments
@elikyaa5 күн бұрын
Y'all are so fake deep it's crazy. So Drake is not allowed to comment on Derozan's treacherous behaviour because of the Science Centre? When Drake does support initiatives in the city, y'all ignore it so what reason do we have to believe that it would be any different now? If anything, had he spoken up about Ontario Place/Science Centre during the beef, a lot of you would've called him opportunistic. If you want to continue supporting an athlete that went out of his way to participate in an song intended to disrespect your city and the people in it, then go ahead. But those of us with self-respect will keep calling out the bullshit

I don't hate Tyla and I don't think majority of Americans do either there have just been some very vocal ones that talk mess and the media here loves to play up any drama. As for why Americans aren't going to visit other countries, well it's expensive. Believe it or not, many people don't have the money to go hop on a plane and fly off to another country when they get the urge. Reality t.v. isn't real...

To make this easy, even though we have mixed race in South Africa, some of black South African don't like to be black because of some among black people who are doing bad things, I believe witchcraft or black magic it the foundation of this, I'm a South African, if a mixed rice person doesn't want to be called black, I clearly understand why, to Americans what I can say is, in South Africa a 20 years old girl like Tyla we regard them as kids, because she is not yet mature mentally, Tyla she is just a kid on adolescence stage and I don't think she was ready to become a big artist so world please understand.
