If he sold the Apple II for $1,000, and bought Apple stock for $0.08/sh, it’d be worth about $3.4M today.

0:29, that's not James Stewart. That's the Meathead from All in the Family. I can't believe he won the showcase. Archie must have been furious at him.

I’m sitting in my car at 11:45 pm eating a late night snack and watching clips of the Price is Right. The music is so nostalgic and this game show was just perfect. I miss these times, thank you for all the memories Bob and Johnny.

Around January 1957 Bob Barker left TOC to eventually helm The Price is Right in 1972. These are approximate dates for both Truth or Consequences and then moved on the The Price is Right in 1972. There have been many incarnations of The Price is Right over the years, but Bob Barker had it the longest with (6,719 episodes) on CBS. There are gaps in the years for these old shows no matter which data base I search there are a few years missing. But oh well, we know what we remember. In addition to his being everyone's favorite game show host, Barker had at lease 15 acting roles; the list is on the IMDB website. One of his funniest roles was basically playing himself has a golfer in Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore (1996). As I recall Bob Barker gets to beat the crap out of Sandler's Gilmore character. He was also a guest star on Family Guy and Futurama playing himself as a disembodied head.

According to a Wiki entry. "The Price is Right" first aired on NBC in 1956 with Bill Cullen as the original host of the game. Bob Barker followed, but first he was the host of Truth or Consequences, another show I loved. Copied from IMDB: Three months after cancelling "Truth or Consequences" in prime time with host Jack Bailey, NBC launched a new daytime version on Dec. 31, 1956, with radio personality Bob Barker at the helm. This run not only marked the start of a hugely successful television career for Barker, but also became the longest-running incarnation of Truth or Consequences yet, airing 2,259 episodes until September 24, 1965.

This was when passengers flying commercial dressed in their Sunday best!!!!! Girls were to not wear pants to elementary school unless Halloween costume. Finally the rules laced some. Growing up in Knoxville in foothills of Smokey mountains was really cold. Parents were informed that girls could wear pants. But my papa wouldn’t hear of such. So, I would grab my 2 year younger brothers pair of pants…when got to school went in bathroom to change into, pants and head the dress in the bag under a tree. Everything was going swimmingly, but my teacher passed me driving away from school as I walked home. It happened twice and I thought…please let her not be thinking of my wearing a dress/skirt. The next day, I got to schools but my brother’s pants were too small so I had to stay in dress. About 10am our class door opened and in walked my father. My first thought was thank god the pants were to small. Seems my tattletail teacher in 4th grade had called my Dad to explain about pants in class but dress walking home.. Plus she told him I kept a messy book /paper metal cage like think attached to bottom of desk sink. So for a week after school, I had to write 500 times a day ‘I will not disobey my dad and will keep my desk tidy. I got to where I could hold 4 pencils so I knocked it out 4 at a time. I was not happy with my teacher for the rest of the year. Ugh!!!😵‍💫🧐🤭😊
