As a solo slooper I feel excluded from the event. I have no chance of fighting it off, getting instantly destroyed if I try. It tends to be manned by large crews. I've also often seen it patrolling with other galleons in an alliance to ensure no one can take it down. As such I see a lot of players dip when they see the Burning Blade on the horizon. However, I try to stick around and out manoeuver it in areas with lots of obstructions, I will then look for the Reapers chest. It's a great time to go after it, with most people are too busy with the BB and the skeleton camps so they are not paying attention to my little sloop. Then it's a race to hand it in before the Burning Blade gives chase.

I've seen a lot of sloop players saying simmilar, I haven't touched solo in quite a bit so all my experience fighting it is with a crewmate but I imagine it's rough.
@stephenhruby8763Ай бұрын
Fighting it solo is always rough even if just a dou took it over... make sure to vote for Briggsy's quest as chances are it will grant you a closer respawn as you will sink. If you're trying for the sizzling sinker accommodation you just have to vote up Athena and hit it once with a cannonball... then you can have another crew do the heavy lifting for you. But yeah, it's going to be an uphill battle, putting your ship into a spin and trying to get a board off, then prioritizing stealing their bone callers from their barrels if they haven't used them... gives you more of a fighting chance, but it's tough.

Cooked with this one. The meta needs to change in my opinion, blunder eor is too dominant but they should absolutely not be nerfed to the ground.
@thezenyattamain42442 ай бұрын
TBH glad the one shot is gone it was incredibly annoying to spawn in a fight and go immediately back to the ferry and you spawn back then your back to the ferry again until you sink just pretty good decision by rare
@milkyteasot2 ай бұрын
In some ways I agree, one blunder definetly felt like nonsense at times. But in other ways I don't like what it's done to sloop vs sloop combat, it's just turned into a game of knock the other person off the ship first instead of actually killing them.

As a eor blunder user, i think what needs to be tweaked is primarily pistol, it needs to fill a new role with either more speed, ammo, or a new mechanic to make it more interesting than the eor. Currently eor is just always going to be the better option since it does far more damage, and you seriously need that when dealing with sweats who have 50+ pineapples on them. If pistol had a different use than simply being a weaker more pirate aesthetic eor, then it would better fill a slot in the meta. (Also double barrel needs a change with it's charge shot, it is so clunky)

Pistol being a good weapon would be amazing though honestly Double barrel might have taken it's place as best weapon

As someone who's Ace and a longtime fan of Rare, I'm so thankful that Rare are truly committed to supporting the LGBTQ community unlike other companies like Bethesda. Unfortunately I've still witnessed plenty of Racist and Homophobic comments on this game, just like every other Xbox Live game. I saw a video the other day by a youtuber named GGgolden where a twitch streamer was accusing people of hack's and calling people the F slur on Livestream, that video really opened my eyes as to how horrible people can be on this game. My solution to fix this issue would be to add a link to the Support page on the menu. Additionally, Rare could add an AI powered voice moderation system to Sea of Thieves, Similar to games like Overwatch and Call of Duty. The AI would monitor the Voice chat and If it detects any Slurs or offensive language it will automatically create a report and send the transcripts to a human moderator for review.

There’s a couple of things I’d like to see changes as someone who goes into the devils roar more often than most: -Make it less grey, the area looks dead despite it clearly having life capable of living in the regions so more vibrant reds and oranges would nicely contrast with the safer shallows on the other side of the map -replacing the geysers with a unique enemy type exclusive to the region and not bound by any quest that simply wanders around the island though will attack if you get too close and have actual counter play that makes them diffficult but not tedious -volcano meteors can’t hit boats close to its base, making voyaging on an erupting island not impossible especially if there’s unique treasures only seen on an erupting island -a way to shut the volcanos off, a tower visible from almost anywhere on the island with a unique glint that gets brighter the closer to an eruption the island is, putting some new trinket in would stop the volcano but consume the trinket
@smarty2659 ай бұрын
I think the biggest problem with the Roar is that Rare decided to make it so seperated from the rest of the map resulting in it getting left behind. I am just not a fan of how this singular area has its own voyages and own everything it just feels like youre playing on a much smaller and less interesting map. Imagine if you had to choose between the wilds, shores of plenty and ancient isles and stay in that perticular area the entire time.

I think the entire map should be remade, scattering the devils roar islands and volcanoes around the map. I wouldn’t mind going to a volcanic island on occasion, but forcing people to sail to the far end of the map only to have to deal with constant frustration at every island, is just not fun. Now if you had volcanos scattered around the map that could be used/avoided during regular adventure play, you would give players far more choice about how they navigate or engage in PvP.

Ashen loot spawns too frequently outside of the Roar. Ashen loot is worth double its regular counterpart. That was the reward for doing voyages in the Roar. The skelly fleet needs to spawn in the Roar again. Giving it ashen loot would make it worth risking the volcanoes. Molten Sands does need better loot and more frequent spawns. I would make Molten Sands spawn more frequently based on how many people are not sailing in the Roar. I'd balance it to count as 50% of the forts if no one was sailing in the Roar.

I like your take on fixing the roar. However theres a few things that id like to address. 1 - The roar isnt actually a challenge, its just hard for the sake of being hard without any insentive to be skilled. Geisers and enemies are about the only skill based mechanics available, having the enemies be tougher and the geisers having to be avoided with some quick timing. I feel like the volcanos in particular are only a ticking tike bomb without much hope to avoid unless youre prepared. You can fix this by making the volcanos erupt more frequently, but also making it so theres special spots you can park your ship that test your helm skills as to avoid the rocks. 2 - the Ashen fort of the damned idea sounds really cool, but i feel like it should just be a bit simpler and kept as just your regular forts but woth ashen loots being different. But i do agree another variation of FOTD would be nice. I also have an idea that if any fort spawned in the roar it would be like the old forts used to be: the wave count, skeleton lords in fofs then ashen lord, etc. 3 - Voyages definitely do need to be updated but at the same time its also a better idea to keep them the same and just adjust the difficulty.

I've mentioned this is other videos, but i like the idea of a liche system being introduced for the order. The liche in question will chase you across the sea from island to island, and the only way to kill it would be to go to a skelly fort. The fort in question would have less waves to than a regular fort and maybe have a skelly sloop or 2 as a patrol, but all of the loot dropped from the ships, bosses and fort vault woukd ne sellable to the order.

I love these pitches. But I think they would go well wit the idea of the Devils Roar being a rotational area. The shroud ebs and flows, and Rare could make other areas like a frozen islands to the north west, and another biome to the South West. Then, with each season the shroud moves to unveil a different region, and closes up around another. This could allow season events (on top of the new content of course) to be more focused in areas like the Devils Roar/ Frozen Isles/ etc, and drive players to engage in the area more as it is “time limited” to 3ish months.

that event sounds too tedious and prone to griefing, just reduce the frequency/duration of volcanoes and remove geysers except right before a volcanic eruption. It's a cringe PVE zone because it sucks to play in, not because it lacks good loot

Grade five emissary quests you get in the Devils Roar should send you to islands in the Devils Roar. Right now it sends you out of the Roar which means no ashen villainous skulls D: I'll usually buy a couple of OoS quests and toss out any missions that only have one skull per island and then do any that have groups of three or four. So I think the easiest way to fix these quests right now is just make 4 packs the default. Most big islands in the roar are large enough to have multiple skelly packs roaming them after all. I'd put all the packs on one island, 4-8 skulls maybe, and have the last captain drop a message in a bottle that sends you to a second island to fight a Skelly lord, or an ashen lord in the roar. You could even have a skelly ship patrolling that island that you have to fight before landing. This would bring it into line with the time investment and profit margin of Lost Voyage quest and be a lot more fun to boot. You could honestly fix the ghost fleets the same way. Have a ghostly lord spawn on the island after you defeat the fleet.
@Butonz1 Жыл бұрын
The roar is my favorite place to solo grind. I especially like doing Order of souls missions there since geysers make clearing skeleton groups quick and easy. The Ashen vault is great solo money too, if you know the one medallion trick to solve the puzzle. Even without new events, I'd still be happy with the roar the way it is since it's where I go when I want to avoid pvp but still make some money. That said, the paranoia you talk about is never really gone cause I HAVE been attacked in the Roar before. The PvP I get there is usually on my own very casual level though and here's why I think that is: Pirates looking to PvP don't always avoid the roar... but the Sweat Lords usually do. Pardon the tangent here but I compare this phenomena to what happened with Smash Bros Brawl. Brawl came out after the highly successful Melee sparked a thriving competitive scene. While most causal players transitioned to Brawl the competitive players stuck with Melee. This major discrepancy was all thanks to one small change. Brawl added a 1% for any character to trip when they tried to sprint or dash across the stage. Tripping meant that your character would, through no fault of your own, be momentarily vulnerable...if you didn't trip right into an avoidable attack to begin with. The competitive scene reacted very negatively to this RNG mechanic and Stuck with Melee until Smash for the Wii U came out. Though there are still Brawl purists out there to be sure. I think the Sweat Lords avoid the Roar for the same reason. The idea that random chance could cause them to lose a fight they think they should have won is actually offensive to them or something lol. Whatever the reason, I'd be leary of any changes that incentivized them enough to bring them back to the roar, RNG be damned.

i don't think adding sea forts and things from the main map to the roar would do much but a world event with different mechanics is a great idea
