I grew up in Washington state. I love Maine because it's as close to what I grew up with on the east coast. My daughter went to college there. I love fly fishing and I would love to live in Maine but at my age I don't think I can take the winters. It's not the driving, I've done that but I fear falls and giving myself a heat attack shoveling snow. It's bad enough in Jersey and our winters are nothing like Maine's. If you're a bit younger and in better shape than I am, it's a beautiful state and if you can take the winters by all means move there. I wish I could have done it twenty years ago.
