These are all poor countries. To me, corruption in the US is the most damaging and dangerous because it affects the entire planet, whereas the corruption in these countries mostly stays within their borders.

The difference between developing country corruption and developed country corruption is the level of society at which it can be encountered. In a developing country you’ll find it at the street level with traffic cops and border guards while in a developed country you find it at the high levels of government where bribes are offered by large players for special treatment. I think your video focuses on developing country corruption not developed world corruption.

Do you read the subtitles yourself? Probably not, or you would have hired someone fully literate to write them. Preferably with some knowledge of English. That said, the mess in many of the countries listed, e.g. Haiti, Congo and Nicaragua, is a legacy of outside interference. Take a look at the disgraceful conduct of Belgium, the UN, Britain and the USA in handing newly independent Congo to the mining corporations after the murder of that country's first elected prime minister.

According to the UN, UK, The World Bank, Pew Research, and Interpol Ukraine isn't in the top 25 worst. The only one that says Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries is Putin and a handful of members of congress that take orders from the Kremlin.

There's no accurate measure of corruption, You can only measure perceptions of corruption. That's what Transparency International does. I'd imagine these are from their index.

It is obvious that the United States is incredibly corrupt. I'm sick of the two party system and it really should not be run this way. A lot of European countries have more than two parties and do not have this level of corruption and are run more efficiently. The people in our government are just not accountable. But to say the US is more corrupt than these third world countries that don't really have any real government regulations and don't really have any real rules or laws and are constantly taking way more bribes than even the US government does is delusional

8:10 decades of war probably even includes when the US was in Afghanistan for decades. I'm not a fan of Biden and no I'm also not a fan of Trump I hate the two-party system and I wish we had a legit third party that could win it all, but if there's one thing I am happy Biden did it was getting our troops out of Afghanistan finally after being there for so long. I mean Osama bin laden was killed in Pakistan so I mean I don't know did we really need to be in Afghanistan for as long as we were? But what pisses me off is that ever since our troops left Afghanistan just basically let the Taliban conquer them. They didn't even try to put up a fight which proves that all the lives we lost there were a complete waste. Weren't we there to train them to defend themselves from those terrorists after being there for so long?

In India , I always asked a third uninvolved party what an item or service should cost before buying anything or using any service. I would start negotiating below that price standing my ground , but would eventually agree to the price given to me by the third uninvolved party. This got exhausting , and a lot of times I could not get things done until I accepted a slight over price. Even using this method , I would still get ripped off but by less if I just let things slide. .

In Haiti, the government only has effective control of a small sector of Port Au Prince, the rest is in control of gangs. Somalia is in anarchy, (although not as bad as the total anarchy in the 90's) - the northern area of Puntland is relatively peaceful and want's to cede from the country (Somalia being an amalgamation of former British Puntland and Italian Somaliland). It's a hub for piracy (which was started by British mercenary outfit 'executive outcomes' and Simon Mann), drug smuggling, and islamic extremism. Yemen is the traditional home of the Bin Laden family, prior to moving to Saudi Arabia. Afghanistan has actually reduced the amount of opium being produced (under US occupation it increased by 400% - area's that had never produced opium previously were producing ). Equatorial Guinea, Simon Mann rears his head again here, in 2004 Mann and some of his Merc buddies tried to launch a coup ( backed by Margret Thatcher's son Mark Thatcher), but got busted in Zimbabwe while en-route. Mann was extradited to Equatorial Guinea and sentenced to the notorious Black Beach prison.

As far as the UN and others are concerned it has not. However the graphic used here recognises the on the ground reality of the unrecognised state of Somaliland. (British Somaliland was independent for 5 days before merging with the former Italian Somalia to form the Somali Republic on 1 July 1960.) Somaliland regards itself as the successor state to British Somaliland.

I think there is a very fair argument to be made that some of these countries don't really belong on the list. No because things are not bad there, but because is it really corruption it the central government is not in control. At a certain point it is just criminal extortion by warlords and gangs. I would argue that Haiti, South Sudan, Somalia and Yemen should have a not applicable score.

Yes, I'm surprised that the worst offenders are not on this list. But, then again, since they are the biggest countries, I'm not surprised they were omitted. It's easier to pick on the puny powers. Russia, China, the United States, North Korea should be on this list. Russia, China and North Korea because they're dictatorships, and those are always corrupt. The United States, because it has an obscene level of wealth and income inequality and an economy that primarily benefits only the top 1% of its population. It's hard to justify anything being more corrupt than that.
