is there a reason you picked wizard over sorcerer or you just wanted an int based build ? also which caster build is strongest for solo honer mode ? good content tyvm helped me a lot.
@SleepingDog.6 күн бұрын
Unless you go for a spell caster build that focuses on elemental dmg (only 1 elemental dmg type) evocation wizard is always going to be stronger/better in late game than a sorcerer. To keep it short as a sorcerer you only can get a dmg boost on 1 elemental type from the Draconic Bloodline subclass, while as an evocation wizard you get a damage boost on all your evocation spells. This alone makes you already a lot more flexible, but on top of that you are also able to learn a lot more spells as a wizard, basically every spell in existence through scrolls. So essentially as a sorcerer you are a lot more limited in combat compared to a wizard, which can complicate things a lot in the late game, assuming you're playing solo. As for what is the strongest caster build for solo Honour Mode, I would say it's probably the build I played in this run, simply because you have an answer to everything that could happen in a run. Just dumb the points I put into STR, WIS and CHA, put them into CON and you are good to go. However Sorlock is also incredible strong and a lot easier to play. You shouldn't have any problem beating the game with this build.

I guess you mean the part with the cable car, right? (7:11:00) It's simply a safety measure because elevators, or any type of moving platform in this game, have a bug that can cause the platform to move without your character, which then will cause your character to fall into the abyss and die.

When I first started, I knew the three boons of a necromancer: personal buffs, crowd control, save or die spells. Denying enemies of healing, weakening their ability to do damage, increasing my own survivability, or even outright stopping an enemy from doing anything or making a huge amount of movement in battle lets you feel incredibly powerful, especially with an army on your side.

The only arguable point I see in this build is that Drow Females NEVER go into magery, which they considered a profession for lowly males. Women become priestesses of lolth, warriors or assassins, not mages. Tav is under no such restriction ... im just mentioning what's canon for Drow culture in AD&D. Oh, and I can see how any true underdark drow female, esp a highborn one, would find Raphael's condescending smugness and air of superiority to be utterly insufferable, and they would attack at the earliest opportunity to beat him to death for it.

13:59 I recently discovered a glitch where you can obtain the Adamantine armor/shield without fighting the Grimforge boss. All you have to do is summon Shovel (Scratch might work, but I haven't tested it.) and use Shovel's melee attack to hit the wheel to summon the boss. As fast as you can, immediately cancel the summon. If you preform these actions and Shovel disappears before the cutscene plays, the lava will come out but the boss won't. From there you can just hit the lever to drop the hammer and it will make the armor! You can still fight the boss later on if you want, but this glitch allows you get the armor at any level essentially.

I love this playthrough. I hope you do more playthroughs, but with a non-durge, and with damage allowed, for a more mainstream (lower-skill) audience. Your tactics are geared toward not getting hit, but for most players of lesser skill, this isn't a relaistic option for them, so thier tactics would most likely have to be different (such as pumping CON more, selecting different spells, etc.). You have a lot of knowledge that I think a lot of players could benefit from (myself included). Thanks for the great videos.
@SleepingDog.Ай бұрын
Thanks :). I definitly will do more playthroughs in the future, most of them probably focusing on one specific build like in my necromancer run. Though before any of this is going to happen there will be at least 2 DOS 2 runs, which i promised to do. However, I recently got my internet connection fixed, so maybe there will be some streams towards the end of the year. And for my first streams I would like to do a casual Honour Mode Guide Run, probably with a full party. I still have to do some testing though, to make sure everything is going to work. So i can't make any promises just yet.

Yea, I can see how this can be hard to follow. That's also why in my edited and commented videos I explain almost everything I do, so that it is easy to follow for everyone. At least that's my goal. For this run specifically I'm actually going to overexplain a lot in the edited version, since it's such a unique setting. Hopefully I will be able to release the edited version soon, after all I'm sitting on this one for quite a while now... :/

I learned a lot about the game, mechanics, etc. You did a great job. Thank you again. Yes, unlike you, I didn't run alone, but with companions. So it was easier for me, but I also had to adapt my playthrough a little. It was still pretty hard. I had to start over twice. The first time I couldn't beat Myrkul, and the second time I had to kill my companions in the cutscene after killing Mirkul. And the githyanki killed me in the astral plane. Despite this, it was still interesting. I had a lot of fun and pleasure. Thank you!

I really enjoyed your videos, and would like to start my first solo journey. In the Act 1, which main items, potions, and spells I should keep in the backpack?
@SleepingDog.3 ай бұрын
For your potions you usually want the Elixir of Hill Giant Strength, the Elixir of Vigilance, the Elixir of Bloodlust, the Potion of Speed, the Potion of Invisibility and then of course healing potions. Depending on what kind of build you're playing you also want the Oil of Sharpness for your melee and/or range weapon if you focus on weapon damage/attacks. And last but not least you want to get some Flying Potions in preparation for the second act as they're going to be very useful in almost every major fight. This actually also goes for the last act, if you don't plan to go Partial-illithid. Now you want the strength elixir because it lets you take positions you normally wouldn't be able to get in, since it boost your athletic skills. This is also the reason why, with this potion you are able to push and throw people around with an almost guaranteed success chance. On top of that this elixir also increase your melee damage and hit chance, especially useful for a melee character, because now all of the sudden you will hit almost all of your melee attacks instead of only 70%, right from the start. The Elixir of Vigilance is an elixir that you want use when you need to guarantee your first move which, if you build your character correctly, should only be needed in certain Boss fights. The Elixir of Bloodlust is an elixir that you want to use when you are heavily outnumbered (preferably by stronger enemies) and need to thin their numbers quickly to not get overwhelmed. The Potion of Speed is a potion that you want to use whenever you need an extra action point or just straight up as a pre buff against large group of enemies or boss fights. Though in boss fights you usually want to use the Haste spell (scroll) over the speed potion simply because it lasts longer and it saves you the usages of a lot of bonus actions that you otherwise would need to spend reapplying the speed effect from your speed potion every 3 turns. However if you are too afraid you losing your concentration in a boss fight, going with just the speed potions instead is completely fine. The Potion of Invisibility is essentially a utility potion that can be used to avoid traps (Arcane Tower), trigger surprise attacks or to more or less safely disengage from a fight. For spells you want to buy Haste scrolls, Mirror Image scrolls and Misty Step scrolls. These are all spells that help you overcome some tougher engagements, by giving you more action points for a long time, help you survive more attacks and increasing your moveability by means of teleportation. Besides that you could also get some big aoe damage spells like fireball. But this is not necessarily needed you should do just fine without them, yet still worth to keep in mind so you don't accidently sell these scrolls if you happen to come across them. However if you desperately need some extra aoe dmg for your build (for example if you're playing a fighter) I would recommend to just buy some bombs they're a lot cheaper than scrolls and also deal a good amount of aoe dmg. That is of course if you don't plan to just steal everything to begin with.

@@SleepingDog. Due wrong choice, I can not finished Mol quest in Act 1 to obtain "Ring of Protection". Are there any alternative items for "Ring of Protection"? And missing Mol quest on Act 1 does any effect with build and quest line in the Act 2, Act 3?
@SleepingDog.2 ай бұрын
@@haphi5182 Missing Mol's quest doesn't change anything. I guess you lose some minor story telling, but gameplaywise it has zero effect whatsoever. As for alternatives for the Ring of Protection, there is unfortunately nothing quite like it. The only ring that has a remotely similar effect would be the Ring of Twilight, giving you +1 AC whenever you are obscured. But of course you can't always be obscured, so personally I think it's kinda meh. Now depending on your build you have different options. When you are playing a martial character you want to use the Strange Conduit Ring and the Caustic Band to maximize your damage output. For some Boss fights you also might want to switch one of them for the Killer's Sweetheart, to prepare a guaranteed crit for the fight. For characters that use spells as their main damage source it's unfortunately not that simple, as it's important what kind of spells you use and what type of damage you deal. For example if your character has a lot of thunder damage you might want to get the brand of the Absolute, so that you can use the Ring of Absolute Force. Now for the build I'm using here, you can get the The Whispering Promise to bless yourself (+1d4 to Saving throws). This way you still lose the +1 to your AC, but at least you will be able to keep the extra bonus to your saving throws, as long as you keep the blessing active. Later you can get the Callous Glow Ring as normal. As for the last act, once you have the permanent blessing you can just get the Ring of Feywild Sparks for the +1 Spell Save DC. Hope that helps. PS. Sorry for the late response 😞

The question I have is: Are the normal difficulty levels just too easy for you? When I try to play with a full party at higher difficulties I have to fully tryhard or I get endlessly murdered. So I guess the comment should be "I am equally impressed and wondering if this is fun for you." XD
@SleepingDog.4 ай бұрын
I always play on the highest difficulty, even if I play a game for the first time and have no clue how the game mechanics work. Which is actually something I'm doing for years now. Idk I just feel like the best way to learn and get better in a game is to immediately play on one of the higher difficulties. It doesn't have to be the highest difficulty right away, but I always advice people against playing on one of the lower difficulties, especially the lowest difficulty if they're planning to play the game for a longer time. This is because the easy difficulties usually paint a wrong picture on how the game works, which then later makes it very hard and also frustrating for players to adapt on playing on higher difficulties. But to get to point: Yes, playing on any difficulty lower than the highest is too easy for me and therefore also boring for me. I simply need to have some kind of challenge when playing a game to truly enjoy it, at least most of time. PS: Ofc if you play a game just for the story and/or to simply have a good time play on the lowest difficulty if you want to, nothing wrong with that. Also, if you don't feel confident enough playing a game on one of the higher difficulties right away, playing on normal difficulty is totally fine, just don't go lower if you want to get better at the game.
