Thank you for this review, very informative! We would like to do the Iceland cruise from Belfast, but can't book a balcony room as they are booked up for the next two years. We are very hesitant an about the ocean view rooms as they look pokey in the booking pics. Also they don't tell you that the beds can be put together. Having seen this wee might just give it a go!

@PaulineMilner No problem at all. I'm glad that you found it helpful. Most cruises we book an inside cabin as we try to spend as little time as possible in there. We are going on our first cruise with Marella around the Med in August. But I have a quick question you may be able to help me with. We have two children ( fussy eaters ), I noticed that the snack shack do cookies, fruit pots and sandwiches. Is it possible to pick these up and take them off the ship for them on Port days? Thank you for your informative videos and help with this.

@andrewlinskey7856 hi you can take items away from the snack shack. However on disembarkation day the take away items were not put out. We were always off the ship really early so i'm not sure what was available on port days. We have a food vlog next week showing all the food. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Done a cruise 3rd Dec we stayed in the funchal suite just had a refurb it was lovely. That's as good as it got the food must be the worst we have ever had . My wife and I have done 43 cruises over the years and this one was the worst by far butlins at see never again.

@@TravellingLightLisa Morning Lisa, yes you are correct on the Marella. I have done a couple more since I last spoke. They are still value for money but you can tell if you are a person who has been with them since the start food & drink wise. But it still don't stop me got a couple booked for Feb/April so it is what it is lol x

@@TravellingLightLisa only 2 days on Fred Olsen Bolette in April at the moment but always looking for great deals...I did a festive cruise on Ambience just before christmas...its a weird ship but charming in its own right...am thinking about a solo back on her in February for 11 nights £695 at the moment

@John-qq8he Thanks for watching and for trying us out. You hit the nail on the head! We ARE budget cruisers and proud of it, but we know a dirty pillow, carpet, kettle, and unemptied bin when we see them. In nine years of cruising, the cleanliness of our room and the service standards we encountered are still the worst we have experienced on any ship. Do you want the truth or something beautiful? Thanks for the feedback. Just as a matter of interest, which other reviewers are you referring to?

I have taken many cruises over the years but wouldn't have done so if I needed to count my pennies quite so closely. I wanted to have some fun.

@JohnAkerman-n1e Good for you! We have also taken many cruises over the years but don't always require balconies, staterooms, drinks packages, or other upsold add ons. I guess that we don't necessarily equate spending money with having fun. We enjoy simple pleasures like writing, painting, and walking. At the end of the day, a ship is usually just transport to get you to the places you want to go. QM2, however, is a destination in itself, and I hope our ship tour and staircase art tour illustrate that. The service and cleanliness standards we encountered on this sailing remain the worst we have experienced on any cruise. Thank you for watching.

Thanks its been helpful as I'm on this ship in 2026 in the big Med cruise & 2027 even bigger Caribbean cruise. Just the right size for me & no flumes & all that jazz.. Living in Scotland its a long trek too Tilbury. I may drive & park my car.thete that is a expense but being disabled its too problematic on public transport. I will have to overnight in Tilbury too make sure of being there in time. Ship looks.really nice. What was excursion prices like?

So glad it was helpful for you. As I recall, the trips ranged from roughly £40 to £60 but we didn't take any of them. We were visiting Guernsey, Honfleur, and Plymouth. The Med and Caribbean may be very different prices. We always try to do our own thing, but I appreciate that accessible trips may be important for you. Hi we are going on ambassador cruise ship ambition next week for a 45 night cruise in the same kind of cabin you had can you tell me if you could get your suitcases under the bed please because for that amount of time we will have quite a bit of luggage thanks Rita

@58mary999 Hi 👋 Yes, we managed to fit our cases under the bed. Handy hint if they are deep cases and don't fit, leave them open and they will definitely slide under. You can use them like an under bed drawer then. Have a fabulous cruise. We are jealous already! Thanks for watching 👍

@aviationphan1847 We are in our 50s and were some of the youngest on board! There were a couple who were on their honeymoon in their late 20s, but most were 65+. However, don't let the demographic put you off if the itinerary is one you want to do. It is all about the destinations for us. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching 👍

Thank you for a well balanced review. I cant believe the rudeness of some of the comments and the personal nature of them; and the people making them seem to think they have class! I didnt find you were negative at all, in fact in view of the standards you experienced i thought you were actually quite positive. We have a cruise booked for 2 weeks around the med on qm2, and like yourselves we will make our own conclusions based on our experience. Not sure what Cunard is hoping to achieve with these short cruises? As stated in the comments the price per day is cheap but if the experience is poor people are very unlikely to rebook for a longer cruise. Hopefully it has been a short term staffing issue and things will improve. Looking forward to watching mire of your reviews and replies to 'those' comments 😅

Not by us, I hasten to add, but by the original poster when I held a mirror up to them with my response! We are generally positive and well-balanced in our critiques, but some people really will not have a word said against Cunard. I am just off to eat soup with a knife! 😂

Christ! It looks horrendous. Why am I seeing this rubbish. If you two adult disney kids ever graduate to a grown up cruise (god forbid I’m on that trip) at least learn how to use cutlery. You are strongly in the ‘Murica camp when you attempt to eat.

Loving the Merch Lisa ! You guys really relaxed and chilled on this cruise… The food does really look amazing. Break out that leotard on your next Virgin Cruise Giles …The ship looks such fun with plenty of nostalgia provoking activities and things to do. Valid points on the beer.. surely solvable by Virgin or maybe a ploy to drive customers to cocktails and wines? Test kitchen looks marmite ! And was there any ? Disembarkation looked easy… Really good series this .. Thanks guys and we will have to give this a try.
