In very loving memory of Mr. Gabriel T. Flemings (1938 - 1989 R.I.P. Gone but NOT forgotten), who played the piano on the above recording.

Ik had als jongentje ooit deze single met op de B-kant o.a. 'Roodborstje tikt...' Een drummer waar ik ooit mee in een band zat had ook bij Jaap Dekker gespeeld

I first owed this on a Charly Records album ‘Rare Jerry Lee Lewis Vol 1. Deserved to be released at the time. A fantasy B side single with Just Who Is To Blame’,on the A side.

A strong Pop flavoured Rock’n’Roll song. The guitar solo gets in way of Jerry’s piano solo, but nonetheless it’s a song that should have been released at the time.

But the tune and arrangement for this version of Gargantua was repurposed to become "Be A Party", which was released in the UK as being by The Sons of The Piltdown Men. The version of Gargantua released by Capitol was a different, and really very cool, tune altogether!

Perfect groove by Pete Johnson and his band with the Yancey Special bassline and a great tenor sax by Maxwell Davis finishing off with a Apex Blues type riff on the saxes.
