The biggest concern is , the bullpen for a section of two weeks has not been able to get and hold a lead to the closer. Great they have Estevez, how much does that get a playoff team when the bullpen loses a lead. Good team, they have lost 6 of 7 to the Oakland As and a Yankees team that was struggling.

Can't say that I ever believed in the way the current Phillies were built. Too many free agents, not enough homegrown talent. That said, the 98 Yankees, which may have been the most dominant baseball team of my lifetime, went into a pretty deep lull after the all-star break as well. If the Braves go on a tear, and the Phillies continue to slide, then maybe it will be time to panic, but right now they're still fine. Also, considering how bad 100 win teams have done in the playoffs in recent MLB history, maybe it's a good thing that they're getting punched in the mouth at the moment. Ultimately, it will be about what they do in the playoffs, rather than if they can set the Phillies record for wins.

I believe we need to go after Mason Miller and Brent Rooker hard. That includes giving up anyone and everyone not named Andrew Painter. I'd like to hold onto Crawford as well, but NOW is the time to win. People keep talking about Rooker's outfield play and how "horrible" it is, and I say it's not as bad as losing the world series because we couldn't get that one hit. This guy can hit, and any defensive shortcomings don't come close to what he can provide offensively. He's a perfect fit for this club. And we'd have control of him until 2028 and Miller for about 5 more years. Miller could also be stretched out to be a starter again in a year or two if need be.
