I'm an adult and I watched the show. It inadvertently made me famous when I was featured in the local Express and Star newspaper with my radio controlled decoy duck and ducklings at a canal show in Netherton. I got teased at work about it, but what the heck. R.I.P. John Cunliffe

Debroah McCallum indeed left and had a son. After zzzap she ran a boutique clothing store which is no longer in business. In recent years she ran a very nice Airbnb and salon in Glasgow called Six Rooms. Not too sure what happened but as of 2019 she is no longer at the business. She briefly appeared in the daily record and scottish sun in 2020 as she had gone missing from the bishopbriggs cross area. She was safely found shortly after (her name is actually Deb Plott if you wish to see the article) hoping she is well and okay now as she was a big part of many a childhood in the 90's. Even for those of us who watched Take the high road too!

Nice interview Jack, I didn’t realise Brenda had worked on T-Bag as you know made by Thames in Teddington, plus her funny stories and antidotes working on The Sooty Show for Thames and Sooty & Co for Granada

In the Series 2 episode ''Hats''' which canal near Birmingham does John lose his hat in? I would love to find that filming location. Also love the video, I hope you do a second one of Rosie and Jim filming locations. Because one of my favourite episodes from Series 1 which is ''Steam''' where John accidently runs the Ragdoll aground on some mud. A scene with a steam engine on the Seven Valley Railway is shown, but the river doesn't run alongside that part of the line only going under the bridge which the Ragdoll isn't seen doing so. Which means a bit of trick filming which is worth mentioning. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIq8qI2QeJ6hpbM Ps here's the link to the ''Steam''' episode.

I don't know I'm afraid it's a bit difficult to tell. Thank you for watching the video, I'm afraid there are no plans for another because this one took a long time to do and I just wanted to concentrate on the ones that held a local connection to me.

PS And it’s funny I should say that because Rosie and Jim was both first presented and of course created by the late John Cunliffe as he created Postman Pat as one of the characters called Ted Glen had a harmonica on the tuba episode.

Thank you :) I really enjoyed your video. I grew up on the British Inland Waterways, living in canal boats from the early 70’s but we never ‘did’ Birmingham. Anyone know what happened to the Ragdoll? Anybody seen her? It’s unlikely her name will have changed as that’s one of the strongest sailor superstitions (I can’t remember the reasoning) to never change the name of a boat. She looks about 55 feet, lovely girl :)

The Ragdoll Boat still exists, it was found a few years ago in dry dock and has since been returned to the water. It appears to be in private ownership now. It has been modified and repainted so it's hard to spot. It's still green and red but all of the identifying Ragdoll signage has been removed sadly. There's a few videos on youtube and some pictures online of how it looks recently.

Great to have the show back, I'm a very big fan of Sooty and Sweep (and Soo, as well), it's cool that you got Brenda Longman, especially being uploaded the day after my 21st birthday and 32 years after the original broadcast of "Happy Birthday, Sooty" too!

I loved the Ragdoll shop, being a Brummie myself, when we visited Stratford we always had to visit the shop. One of my favourite parts was the Rosie and Jim boat that you could sit in and watch episodes, me and my sister could have stayed there all day! This was really interesting, i might visit someone of the locations myself.

Yes I visited the shop a few times when I was a kid, it's a shame there's not many photos or footage of it online. I have a vague recollection of what was dotted about.

@@JacksThrowbackAttack Yeah, i think that promotional video for the shop is one of the only bits of footage online. I know there was also the Tots TV section which had 3 telephones i think? You could "call" each character. But like you, it's very vague.
@JacksThrowbackAttack

@@alexwells6876 There is some footage in the BBC Teletubbies Documentary from 1998 which is on KZbin. Yeah the three telephones, each one played the theme music from a different show (one for Tots TV, one for Rosie and Jim and one for Brum) and there were coloured postboxes you could put drawings in. I seem to remember there was a little outside bit with a painting of Donkey in his shed on the wall. There was also a mini Teletubby land as well. The very last time I visited they had a section dedicated to Boobah as that was the new big show at the time.
