Is this a joke? What is the output of the panels under optimal conditions ? What size is the battery pack? How many miles per Kilowatt hour does the car achieve? Has the car been crash tested? Does the car have airbags? Does the car have climate control? Let me guess, the total power generated will be a few hundred watts so charging even a small battery of say 50KWH will take many days, probably weeks in the real world . Battery cars are a joke and this thing is utterly hilarious.

You know their camper version (Stella Vita) drove from Paris to Morocco on one charge? It's not a joke. I don't know the numbers but it must be about 8 mi/kWh. The PV can probably do about 2kW on a really sunny day so would charge the battery in 2 sunny summer days.

Electric vehicles are such a leap in efficiency over petrol vehicles there is no need to place solar panels on a vehicle. Unlike roof top solar they are not guaranteed to have the right placement or angle to the sun and they are further exposed to the hazards of the road. Efficiency means putting the money into roof top solar to charge your car and also benefit others by placing excess solar into the grid.
@glike2

But if solar panels are very inexpensive, then why not place them on the roof to provide some benefits

This is the such a waste of money, anything but rail. "dedicated avenues" avenues are already dedicated to transit, car transit adding another lane won't solve anything. Have you never heard of the downs thompson paradox? If you're in urban planning it's something you need to be aware of, but clearly aren't if this is the proposal. Detroit CSA is comparable to Atlanta or Phoenix, with some counties growing in population rather rapidly. We need alternative methods of transit, because people will increase traffic by driving until there is a faster alternative to driving. Every other country in the world knows this. There's a reason the best cities for driving have the most alternatives to driving. Detroit and Ann Arbor are getting more densely populated, that means buses or rail are more realistic now than ever.

How to fly without wings Vertical lift off is dificult, danger and high cost This is the SOLUTION Will replace rocket AntiGravity Aircraft Work base on Gravity just spinning by using Battery can fly in bad weather, plunge in the ocean even in outer space Earth which weight predict 600 trillion ton does not fall at the Sun because of centrifugal in orbitting, on the contrary it does not be thrown far go out the orbit line of hold by gravity at the Sun as orbit center. Gravity and centrifugal is equal called Equillibrium, thats why until now Earth which we was inhabited always rotate and circulate the Sun. Now we justly take example : how if the gravity used and centrifugal is negated? The Earth will float far leave the Sun. So that centrifugal can be used to fly far away if gravity eliminated. Finally how to eliminate gravity? It’s way rotate part of aircraft by horizontal. When that rotation faster centrifugal force getting greater and the gravity getting smaller, finally it lose the gravity and the aircraft start flying. Of course people would surprise: how the aircraft can keep rotate without fulcrums? Thats why we named that aircraft Shuttling System that is aircraft likes two disc adjoining attached in the midle as fulcrums: A. The Top part, we name Positive rotate to right, and the edges is getting thicker and havier. B. The Buttom part, we name Negative rotating to left, and the edges is getting thicker and havier. C. Middle Part , we name Neutral, air crew placed and also machine and everythings turning Negative and Positive at the same time. The aircraft can liftup added with explosion from the engine. However that aircraft construction later, let the engineer doit it, and we are sure the aircraft will bulletproof and also waterproof. . . In modern civilization where human being generally using flying saucer as vehicle, will a lot of change in lives either in materialism and in psychological. In materialism area will apply the change in life like. People no longger need roadway and rel road which spend large of energy, money, places, things and time, object place and time. People would utilize that area for habitat or for other need:

If this is the same group that made the solar RV I saw recently I'm hopeful that they can bring both vehicles to market. The RV was quite large, and folded down panels from the sides, so it can generate quite a lot of solar power. I can see this car as a pair with the camper, using it's cells to supplement it's own charging. I'm curious as to how much energy the solar panels provide. The builder says it is totally solar powered, but I'm pretty sure that's with a few days taken to charge up the battery first. As a wild guess might I speculate it's about 10% of the battery per day? That would mean this car is getting around 12.6 km or 8 mi per kWh. That's pretty impressive. I assume once this is out of the prototype stage the tubular frame will be covered by the interior. As it is, you can see how lightweight it is. I hope to see this in Europe soon.

Its funny that instead of offering a smaller and lighter EV like a hatchback, Tesla is trying to sell robotaxis so no one can own a solar car... they sell solar panels, battery walls and EVs. But wont give us solar panels in their cars
@ramdas363
@ramdas363 10 күн бұрын
@@wombat7961 There is a direct incentive for the auto industry to not do this, they're also invested in the charging infrastructure. Or, in the case of Tesla, they outright own the chargers. In addition we're headed straight into the rent economy for various reasons. "You'll own nothing and be happy." Aptera claimed be making a light EV with solar panels but it doesn't look like that's happening. Investors aren't interested either.
@ramdas363
@ramdas363 10 күн бұрын
That said btw, if you have solar panels on your roof like Tesla sells them, it makes more sense to charge the car that way. Solar panels on cars will stay a niche use imo and only make sense at all if the car is extremely light and aerodynamic.

It used to be that way. Everything is increasing in tech though, even if it's already doing fine as private entities need growth to survive in a capitalist system so everything is always "growing/complexifying" bringing us here and further. It worries me that these already almost by necessity require a easily accessible but also vulnerable access point. With simple operations that can only do so much but if this can handle separate apps and use the data from cameras in realtime there are plenty of opportunities for unseen security issues coming alongside the new capabilities for good.

How hard is it to make a e scooter license with a 4 point penalty scheme and age 17yr to 23yr 15.5 mph 23yr old upwards 20mph to 30mph . You speed or break the law and go over 4pts you lose the license for 12 months. You get caught with no licence its 500 pound fine and scooter taken away and smashed. Scooters that do 40mph plus put on the driver's license or create a performance license. You could use that to police the scooters and then make people get insurance policy that covers for injuries and if you hurt someone or smash their property . Also each license can have a special number and your intials ie SA1256 which could be made into a sticker or plate that's visible so if they need reporting its easier. I don't know it's so bloody stupid our country is getting left behind and hard working sensible people get hit in the pockets it's a joke.
@flitsies
@flitsies 3 жыл бұрын
Why has it taken so long for London, because they had to grease a lot more palms compared to other parts of the country. There is no issue with safety, you can buy an ebicycle with 8 inch wheels if you wanted to and ride that on the road perfectly legal, where's the difference. You can ride on the road at the age of well there is no minimum age to riding a bicycle on the road, and it would be perfectly legal. So what the hell are they talking about safety, it's bull crap. They had to work out who would get the biggest bung. You can hire an electric bike never ridden on London streets in your life, you can hire a non powered bicycle never ridden in your life before and go straight out onto the streets of London, if they were truly interested in safety they would have 1 banned all learner drivers in London, 2 make all cyclists take a test before allowing them on the streets of London, and 3, ensure all hired bicycle riders have a license before allowing them to use the streets of London. But they don't, in fact they encourage people who have absolutely no road sense to hire their bicycles. Escooter riders who own their own ride take the time to learn how to ride, with the exception of the youths who ride like twits on anything including bicycles. That's just the way youths are, they ride like twits on bikes, roller skates even kick scooters, hell they even walk like twits some times.
