I just bought a 2006 GMC Envoy Denali XL that the blower wouldn’t work. Checked the blower motor, and the blower control/resistor per the video and both checked out. I had a spare automatic climate control panel from my 2002 GMC Envoy, switched it out and the blower began working as new. Usually the blower control/resistor is the culprit but not in my case. Thanks for the great video…

What if the “ramp edge” is square off with a grinder so not slip? Or add some metal with a welder 🧑🏼‍🏭🤔
@pfun41
@pfun41 Күн бұрын
as long as its square it should work. grinding it would leave slop though and the gear may be hardened and not to fond of being welded.

I have a 5 HP flathead, first of what they called the 12000 Series, that has the same problem only the bearings on the smaller ones are just bores in the case. I did the valves in it, put a steel valve guide on the intake, got it all together and "clunk clunk clunk" and the armature was shorting out the coil. I've not seen anyone try to bore those out and drive in a bronze bushing or the like to use as a new bearing surface. Shame, the engine's been well.maintained for 25 years, everything's good in the bore...just a sloppy top bearing. Hate to scrap it, but.... Anyone ever try this?

My 20 hour Koehler twin mower wouldn't start. Of course it was the solenoid. I've used nothing but non-ethanol fuel and it's never is idle for more than a month. I keep fresh fuel in it. I sprayed with carb cleaner several times and a lot of rust ran out. Took about 10 times for the cleaner to run out clear. Now it's working. Could it have been from standing at the dealer I bought it from? Maybe they had 10% ethanol in it. Thanks.

every time I've seen that its from water in the fuel. but the mowers I get have typically been sitting outside or for long periods of time.

when I took my nikki carb bowl off and plastic body off, A small brass jet fell out of somewhere and I think it fits into the bottom of the long plastic main jet housing and butts up against the main jet brass to brass. I didn't see one in the bottom of your plastic jet housing but you never really showed that angle. Am I correct about where this small jet goes? Many thanks !!
@lorettacaputo6997
@lorettacaputo6997 29 күн бұрын
I am going thru the same problem and was watching this video to see a good explanation. When I opened my Nikki carb, I found that small jet with the o ring loose on the bottom of the bowl. It appears to go into a port in the top of the metal housing. I tried to place it the plastic housing below the brass pick up tube and that didn't work. I had the flooding carb situation and I am sure it was due to the worn larger o ring that goes on to the plastic float assembly. The small loose brass jet didn't help either. Now waiting for a parts kit to complete a rebuild. Hope your carb repair worked out.

I’m about 9 years too late but if you were to pull the valve covers off and replace the cam caps and new bolts that’ll fix that rattle, that is unless the tappet has already been shot out. First gen 3.0l common problem hope this helps someone

Tried this on my Toro 20332, however the new pinion doesn't mesh with the wheel's metal gear. The metal gear on the wheel is further outboard and thinner, so the wheel spins freely without meshing with the pinion.

You did a good job at detailing your step by step troubleshooting protocol. Your process of elimination was on point and thorough. You did not suffer from tunnel vision yet, you avoided getting sidetracked, that takes mental discipline and attentiveness but wouldn’t work without a general grasp of the vehicle control system’s functionality (ECM, PCM, ECU Modular components through K-can, Can Bus, etc.) educating yourself made tracking the issue from a knowledgeable perspective giving you the ability to take the most efficient and direct approach. I am a critic of critics, but you have done what was necessary without beating around the bush too much, great way to reduce simplify factor and solve. (Algebra is a mindset, metaphorically speaking)

Question, If you're still out there... the two halves of this revers assembly... what holds them together? Mine keeps separating . The two halves, just enough not to mostly go into gear. Obviously the chain side is fixed.
@pfun41
@pfun41 Ай бұрын
Its been a while but it looks like it's just the position of the chain that keeps them together. your shift cable may be allowing the spring on the shift fork to push too far and push the case half out. if thats not it I would consider adding a washer between the reverse box and the engine output. It should push on the bolts that hold the sprocket on and keep the case together. Only issue is itll rub in reverse, forward will be fine.
@rtalbott7
@rtalbott7 Ай бұрын
@@pfun41 your right, needing to add washer to create a distance for the right size washer will prevent rub. Thank you.

It seems at least in another video this can cause the tractor to be running on only one cylinder. And I think this may be my problem as I have a big loss of power.....
@pfun41
@pfun41 Ай бұрын
yes, Killing one cylinder will result in less power. The quickest way to spot that is pull one plug wire. Engine speed should decrease but continue running. If it dies or doesn't change one cylinder isn't firing.

An absolute brilliant video. Thank you. I wasted a Sunday afternoon chasing my tale with this issue and your video gave me the solution to the problem. I did the head gasket on it last year so I doubt the valve clearance has changed that much so my money is on my engine having the same broken parts in it as yours did. Thank you from Ireland
