Been playing demo so far but wanting to swap to affli for some fights. When do you refresh dots with procs? If I hit a hurricane/power torrent, a darkroom volcano, a light weave etc, do I reset my corruption, UA etc? Or is that worth less than just shadow bolting

Personally i dont see the benefit of reducing the cd on PW:S unless youre also taking strength of soul but i would never take strength of soul unless youre doing a pvp build. I also think 1 point in surge of light is def worth it. A free instant flash heal is never a bad thing even if its only here and there. Saved a few people in last weeks raid when it proc'd. Maybe procs about 3 or 4 times on a raid boss. To me thats 40-50k free healing. Im not a top parsing healer though but i never went oom and we cleared all the raids on normal.

What do you use for your action bars? It looks like default, but I like how the non used buttons on the bars are hidden. I would like to have mine look like that.

One thing I've been doing to maintain mana is use synapse spring right before atonement so I get 5% mana back from the bigger pool. The cds line up every other atonement if you use on cd which I have been your mana regen is insane

After some experience, I think that disc is going to be nice to have as an-off healer. I leveled disc and ran it up until I hit heroics, where it started to struggle because of a general lack of gear for everyone. Just did BWD 10 man for the first time healing as a holy priest with a disc as our only other healer. I can say that at least with the gear people have right now, you don't have the global time or mana to screw around with trying to cast holy fire and smite to get value out of atonement. There is so much unavoidable raid damage happening all the time that healing is a full time job. Because of all this aoe damage, I was absolutely smashing the disc priest in HPS and total heals. It would have been good to have another primary healer like a paladin or druid or shaman and then use the disc as kind of a flex heal/dps kind of like a shadow priest that can actually focus heal.

I'm just coming back to WoW (except SoD) for the first time since the original WotLK, so I boosted a priest to 80 and went from there with the gear they provided. Disc worked fine while leveling in dungeons, even without evangelism. However, once I hit heroics I really struggled with mana and aoe healing. I think there's a lot of things going on, people had sub-par gear but were pulling like they were already raid geared and ignoring mechanics, which puts more pressure on the healer. In any case, I swapped to holy and that instantly made things easier. I think I will go back to disc for the raid utility eventually, but for 5 mans holy has been doing work. Edit: after running our first 10 man raid I can say that holy is going to be far better individually for BWD since there is just an absolute ton of unavoidable raid damage. Every boss has some kind of constant raid damage they do and discipline will not be able to keep up as a primary healer. It will be good as a supplemental and utility healer to other primary healing specs like holy priest/paladin, resto shaman/druid. I kind of see it filling a similar role to shadow priest but more focused on the healing and utility than dps.

private server disc priest isn't the same as cata classic dis priest. the tuning is not even close since we're running last tier patch tuning with first tier content. Raids will be dominated by holy paladin and resto druid due to the insane hps and utility they both provide hence why the few PTR guilds we play with stack them and don't care much about disc. You can run a single disc priest in raid to help out but they just aren't going to be the god tier that casuals think they will be.

seal of insight is 4% of BASE mana not total mana like back in wrath with seal of wis. its way worse now. Essentially its about 25% of what it was before.

I keep seeing conflicting info on whether we should be using shadowbolt or incinerate as the primary demo filler. You and some other online sources are saying shadowbolt but crix, icy veins, wowhead is saying incinerate. Which is it?

Disease in heroics can be bad so take note of them especially in tol vir dungeon

i stopped playing before og cata and started playing sod...now moving to cata to give that a go. How has lock changed from cata to cata classic? some tier lists are putting demo S tier for both pvp and pve, others put it in D for one or the other...which one is it! lol

Forgot to mention Inner Will and fiend. Unless you're extremely big brained just always be in inner fire. For fiend you should use it in conjunction with mana hymn now that mana matters more. You can also call for a second lust when you pop it to get extra mana back as the haste will give your fiend a few extra swings.
