Why is my soulfire slow when the target is 25% it only starts being fast at like 12% or something??

Yeah its much better but if you cant be in hellfire range you will seed.

Can you elaborate why the improved corruption build is worse on multi target? I had assumed that build was better but I guess I was really wrong

My experimentation with sims shows sb build as about 400-600 dps higher in p1 bis which is significant but not that large. If you prefer the simpler rotation you can go the incinerate spam build and not sacrifice too much (especially if you play it better resulting in higher effective dps). Corruption doesnt do very much damage so even on multi target the 12% increase isnt big enough to really matter on multi dotting imo. I could be wrong about this however and it might be correct to spec swap for multi dot fights.

@@doublezug7193 Thanks for the reply. I was struggling with the sim to get it to change the rotation when I changed the talents, and I honestly did not think about it too much until I saw the video. You're right, though from what I can tell the SB bolt is better I just naively thought that the imp corruption would be better, but like you said the damage from it is quite low. Another question, since master swapping is still in the game do you think it is worth it to prepop an on use mastery trinc even if it puts your DMC on icd? Thank you again

I keep seeing conflicting info on whether we should be using shadowbolt or incinerate as the primary demo filler. You and some other online sources are saying shadowbolt but crix, icy veins, wowhead is saying incinerate. Which is it?

Yes, I mentioned it in the talent section. It is just strictly worse in my opinion although the difference is small if you want a simper filler rotation.

@@doublezug7193 I havent simmed this in any way, shape or form, but looking at the impending doom talent, and taking into factor the .5 second reduced cast time for incinerate vs shadowbolt, it would seem that incinerate is the way to go? Again im not sure, but this is the first time ive seen someone recommend it over the other. Some other warlock with more knowledge comment?

The incinerate build is stronger on single target and the shadow bolt build is stronger on multi target cleaves

For execution phase do you still use incinerate when you proc molten core, or do you just fill with soul fire?

DK and war are both very strong in cata but so is demo. All three are very fun IMO but its always good to try new things.

i stopped playing before og cata and started playing sod...now moving to cata to give that a go. How has lock changed from cata to cata classic? some tier lists are putting demo S tier for both pvp and pve, others put it in D for one or the other...which one is it! lol

Its very strong for pve the entire way through bbut not the number one ranged. Suffers a bit from having its main raid buff also brought by ele which is a very strong spec. Its not great in pvp but its pretty fun there imo. In pvp youre basically a one dimensional spec that does huge burst in meta and outside of that cd you suck. Aff is also so strong in pvp that playing destro or demo is that much worse because of opportunity cost. If you like pvp and pve you can play affliction in both or demo in pve and aff in pvp easily though.

No, thats sod. In cata you cant meta tank but it does make you temporarily crit immune and increases armor.

@@blank4142 SOD is season of discovery. Its a new game mode that out rn thats basically vanilla wow with new raids and new class abilities. Permanent meta is one of those new abilities. In cata meta is very similar to how it works in wrath.

Demo is the best spec overall in cata. Its not any more difficult than affliction imo.

How much DPS is felhunter compared to felguard?

Not sure the exact number for classic yet as the sims arent fully done yet and pets were bugged on beta so i couldnt test it will but the difference on single target is significant. The felhunters bite hits very hard.

It's very significant. When I tried felhunter vs felguard on open world mobs my felhunter was doing more then double the dps compared to felguard. The 15% extra dmg per dot that your felhunters shadow bite is doing is very strong. In raids my felhunter is around 25% of my dmg at about 7k dps and about 74% of that is from shadow bite.

Yes. It just replaces shadow bolt as your filler during execute. You still keep up dots and incinerate with molten core.

A tip: At the opener on single target. Felguard attack with Bladestorm 1. Cast CoElements 2. Cast Hand of GD 3. Cast Immolate 4. Pet swich, and then cast Meta+Demon soul. 5. Apply Corruption and Bane of Doom (They will benefit from the buff you get from Demon Soul casted during Felhunter) - Increased Shadow dmg

Don't you want to get the %dmg from your meta into your first immo? Does it update every time you hand of guldan or does it snapshot % DMG like corruption in wrath?

Yeah, Im assuming COE will be put up by another dps. If immolate snapshotting works the same way as corruption does on wrath (we dont know until we see final scripting on live, beta is buggy and we dont know if itll work the same as on pservers/OG cata) youd want to immo after meta for the %dmg. Youre right that Bladestorm on the felguard before pet swapping is bis, I gave the first version of the opener for people who dont care about min max and want a simpler version with less pet management. I would also not hand of guldan that early because the boss will sometimes be moving on pull into position. Depending on the fight you might need to delay it to benefit from the 10% crit.

Felguard's demon soul buff is a lot stronger than Fehunter's version and you should cast the spell while he's active.
