The larger a spider gets, the easier it gets to fight off with a shotgun, thus less scary.

@purrodie understandable, but she is still my baby, I love her so much. She was one of the first monsters I learned about when getting into a monsterhunter. She is creepy, beautiful when the skin is removed, and has amazing lore with gypseros. As far as I can remember, her and Ketcha wacha are some of the first non boss monsters to have entire sections of the map just dedicated to them.

Hirabami looks like something straight out of Lost Planet and I can’t unsee it. I hope the Nerscylla greatsword is in Wilds because I loved that thing. And please God give us more of Gore’s armor sets this time instead of the “1 set only” nonsense from Rise!

The good news there is looking through footage people caught that alpha and beta armor sets are back, so between that and the two design options for each, that's four designs for every armor piece to mix and match for each monster.

Hype is so real. My precious baby boy is back and private lobbies so we dont have to fight for a spot in stream lobbies anymore. You might have to start showing as online on stream for people to join though since it says it doesnt show on the lobby search.

It feels good to be right about Gore having some involvement, I guarantee that Arkveld is an ancestor to the Magala line that was meant to keep the frenzied ones in check. Hence, the chains on Rey and its element being absorbed by Ark.

The only things I'm kinda bummed about is that the open world focus, tent customization and animations you can have there with other players seems to imply that there's no gathering hub, and possibly no player home at all. Those were two things I really liked in older games but especially World, have endemic life pets in and then customizing your home in Iceborne, I kinda made a ritual of going there and chilling at the end of a game session. And then no gathering hub could mean no neat overlays for holidays with all the celebrations and fireworks and unique food platters. Idk, its not a huge deal by any stretch and if that's the most I can find to be unhappy about then we're gold; its just something I'll miss if what we've seen is what those elements have been turned into.

There's a little bit of a gathering hub with the villages we can gather in. We don't fully know how they'll work since they didn't showcase a lot of the multiplayer stuff in the beta so there's a chance we may still get fun things like hub events. I will miss having a room to customize though ;-;

if anything it might rotate in and out, i think thats how world did it after a while, but if its something like cosmetic should only need to grind it out a few times and i'd imagine would be there for a week at least

@@purrodie pretty sure the benchmark doesn't have any of the promised optimisation as it run as well ( or as bad ) as the Beta. for reference. on a rx6800 ( rtx 3080 or so ) i was getting an average of 67 fps in 1440p preset utra ( fsr quality so the game render at 1080p ). on a true 1440p native, i had an average of 52 fps. but that average really doesn't help to represent how the game run as in some area like the sand dune, its always above 60fps but in that grass area near the camp its in the 30s constantly. if that benchmark is suppose to represent the game at launch then it will be grim for a lot of player.

I'm pretty sure the weird texture on Rompopolo is the "closed wound" texture, basically "you already made & broke a wound here so attack somewhere else to open a new one".

I 100% see the spider thing. It kinda loses the shape super fast but right at the base where he sleeps is like the front of the face and as he jumps up you can see the pipes that look A LOT like spider legs, also webs?
