36:44 Yeah YOU wouldn't, heck neither would I. But our budddy Jacob here has been pretty vocal about how even the smallest of changes fundamentally change the complete identity of games. Something like adding a "send to box" button for rewards would be classified as a HUGE gameplay change in his mind. So when he said people would be mad he was really talking about himself there.

I don't really care how other people feel about things, I think everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but Jacob has an old MH Dos video where he has some pretty wild takes along with objectively wrong info. So I'm more so referring to what he said in that video.

They definitely should do a port called "Monster Hunter HD Collection" sort of like how MGS and DMC have had. HD PC ports of MH Tri Ultimate, MH4U, and MHGU in one package would sell like crazy.

its wild that 4G is considered by most and many to be the best Monster hunter game and thus far, its the only mainline MH game that is stuck on portable console. every other Main MH game is on PS2, WII, WIIU, PS4, XBOX and PC, even MH story, come on capcom. but it has been 10 years now so a port is unlikely, unless they do some sort of Collection with G,2dos,3U,4u. 28:50 suck to be an american because even as a young european lad, i didn't have any problem finding other hunter. nearly every boy that own a psp in middle school had freedom unite ( and dissidia ) it was a mandatory game. 34:35 a straight GU port to PC would work because the game already can run at 1080p on the switch. but the psp and 3ds MH run at 240p, its impossible to play them without some massive upscaling, filtering and better texture.

@@purrodie yeah it suck, the only other solution was to have a custom firmware and use Xlink kai on your computer or use ad hoc party on the PS3, a programm that would link up the ad hoc of multiple psp over the playstation network. so one needed a computer (didn't have one in middle school) and the other needed a ps3 (600 dollars back in the days, nearly 800 with inflation now) so pretty expensive solution to the problem.

I would love to play all the older titles just on one new console. Right now I play Freedom Unite emuluated on IOS with a PS5 controllers. It’s great but having all the older games on my switch or on steam would just be great. I think they should release MH Freedom as the 1Gen Game, Freedom Unite 2Gen, 3 Ulitmate and Portable 3rd for 3Gen and 4U and GU as the 4Gen Games. Having all the games on PC, PS5, Switch and IOS would be just perfect Down the line an open world game set in the old world with the atmosphere of 1st and 2nd Gen would be great. Walking through KOkoto or Pokke in new graphics would just be sick

So many wrong thing in this video: -The port are made by another company and have nothing to do with the mainline dev and their vision. -People will 100% pay for convenience. -Monster Hunter becoming mainstream mean it's actually the best time to put out a port and make a buck on new players curiosity. -You don't need to make big change on a port. Beside, small QoL life like putting an equipment box in the Gathering Hud or item load out wouldn't be hard to add if they wanted to go the extra miles. -MH game have better texture available than their 3ds version. MH3U was on the Wii-U, MHGU on the switch and you can slap the MHGU texture on MH4U. Beside, we've seen a truckload of remaster with updated texture in the last decade. This isn't sorcery. -Just call it MH3 Classic or something. People aren't so dumb they don't understand the concept of an old game getting ported.

you know what transfers over every single Mon Hun game ever, your own experience, each game feels easier each time not because its actually easier, its because a G/master rank hunter starts a new adventure fron a new village.. since controls are basically the same since they went all normal buttons instead of the weirdness of Mon Hun 1 was.. ( attacking with the right stick.. jeesh) also, he is overthinking it, the ports would be the most updated versions of the originals, and basically also just a novelty for mon hun fans new and nostalgia trips to older ones.. old maps and old monsters will me remade a new for the new gameplay as part of the new games , i want to see the new changes as much as i want to see accesibility to the old ones on new consoles.

I've been thinking about this a lot, too. I've been around since 3U and have seen everyone cry as the series has gone on about how much easier it's gotten. To me, it's still a lot harder than the average game, in my opinion. The difference is that now I'm not getting my ass handed to me by Qurupeco, and I understand how the monsters themselves tend to behave in a given situation. 3U was what? 11 years ago? Literally thousands of hours spent across several titles and I came in halfway through, so there are people with twice my level of experience. We've (hopetully) improved a lot since then! I find a lot of the difficulty in the older games is actually down to how clunky they are, compared to where we are now with World and Rise.

As someone who is still incapable of understanding why the local play of PPSSPP doesn’t work for Monster Hunter Freedom and Freedom Unite. I know I definitely would like to see these games ported to modern consoles. One thing I always think when playing G is how much I wish I could play the game with my two siblings, who both got into the series through my “coercion after world came out. MH is best played together and emulating these games works, but the multiplayer just feels different (and you know works), when most of the work was done by Capcom. Also I want to throw my money at Capcom for the older MH games on all platforms. I would buy MHG on switch in an instant just so I can play that game with multiplayer content and not exclusively suffer through the village, especially if they keep the option to play the game like the PS2 version. It’s just fun playing MHG and Tri like that. (While we are at it for asking Capcom to allow us to give them our money. Could they just port Frontier to everything again, just this time the game doesn’t need an online connection and maybe keep the original Dundorma hub from when the game first launched as the “single player village”. I would buy it in a heartbeat.)

@@gerrynava981I literally play them all on OG hardware, (now strictly solo ofc) and while I still actively enjoy these games, it’s just weird to assume that others will either a) spend a bunch of money on an old piece of hardware just to play a few games b) go through the process of getting an emulator up and running. Only the most dedicated will do this, even if to us taking those routes might not seem crazy. I personally know a lot of people still that I used to play these games with in their heyday who would love to play them again. They just aren’t interested in going through the extra hoops. I really think there’s a good market to at least port a couple games. Anything more than 3U/4U and maybe FU is pretty unrealistic to ever see again I’d say. (Obligatory “not reading all that.”)
