Very helpful video. Ive just purchased a 2018 GLC 250d and its only done 37000 miles. It currently has a fault for the nox sensor when i scan it but it doesn't currently show an engine management light. Im thinking of doing the same as you to try and prevent an eml light coming on. I've also added some additive to the adblue to prevent it crystallising, how effective it is im unsure and i doubt it would shift any of the stuff you cleaned out as it look solid. How is your car running now?

If I would add a backboard directly on the wall, would the bounce be the same or different?
@diyprojects-rd64318 ай бұрын
Hi - sorry I have not used a backboard so am unable to advise on this. You will probably need a tough backboard to ensure a firm grip - this would mean a similar bounce as a wall I think.

How do you screw the batten on top of the insulation, every time I put a screw in or use a drill method the insulation just wraps around the screw
@diyprojects-rd6431 Жыл бұрын
I had the same issue. I then used a thin drill as a pilot - that helped the process and stopped it from wrapping.

I did mine earlier in the year and on an extremely tight budget so instead of the thermal quilting I used bubble wrap in layers which cost me £10 for a big roll. And I used soffit boards which I bought off FB marketplace and they cost me £80 . To save having to align on the angles I did them a different direction and it’s worked well. I didn’t use any H pieces, I just put sealant between them and then got a roll of plastic trim off Amazon at £9.99 and put that over to hide the joints. I’ve not had a winter with it yet but it’s made a big difference this summer. This has cost me about £140 max . If I can do it anyone can . I’ve still got to finish getting a trim to tidy up around pvc to brickwork and cover a few screws I had to put in . I’d share pics but don’t know if I can in here 🙂

Also I can see you seal every joint with tape but did you seal borders as well ? Or left them open for vantilation ? I saw one video where edge of foil was also sealed by tape. Appreciate your response.

Can you explain how to tighten the screw? Bcs when i tried to use a spanner wrench, the screw just doesn't stay in place. It follows where im rotating it.
@diyprojects-rd6431 Жыл бұрын
The hole size probably is slightly larger than the bolt diameter and hence it is rotating. The bolt should be snug fit before you start tightening so that it grips properly. I hope it helps. All the best.

@diyprojects-rd6431 Жыл бұрын
Hi Bernard thank you. I don't remember the sizes now but the video shows the screew sizes and for the battens there were 2 sizes available at Wickes one of them I remember for the exact size as the length of the conservatory support struts. I suggest measuring the length and then ordering the batten closest to the size of your conservatory strut to avoid wastage. I hope it helps.

Spent £500 including LED downlighters and dimmers etc, it's really nice in here now and we're finding the whole house has improved as our conservatory is integral with the ground floor with just an arch to the kitchen and no internal doors.
