Does it really matter if you drill a bit deeper than the bolts? Since when you tighten the nuts up they retract anyway rather than push into
@diyprojects-rd64313 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Jeremy- yes I agree -it probably does not matter too much if the hole is slightly deeper- this only helps to drill it to the exact depth for precision, as it makes it easier to place the bolt in the hole before tightening the nuts (or the bolt may disappear inside the hole if the nut is not properly engaged :-) )

What do I do if it curves down and one of the bolts fall out
@diyprojects-rd64313 жыл бұрын
Hi generally if the bolt is loose inside the hole even when you have tightened the nut, I would suggest making the hole the next larger size and using the next size bolt. Another way could be to plug the hole with a good cement mix and redrill once the cement has completely dried ( cured/set). I hope it helps. All the best

Can you explain how to tighten the screw? Bcs when i tried to use a spanner wrench, the screw just doesn't stay in place. It follows where im rotating it.
@diyprojects-rd6431 Жыл бұрын
The hole size probably is slightly larger than the bolt diameter and hence it is rotating. The bolt should be snug fit before you start tightening so that it grips properly. I hope it helps. All the best.

If I would add a backboard directly on the wall, would the bounce be the same or different?
@diyprojects-rd64318 ай бұрын
Hi - sorry I have not used a backboard so am unable to advise on this. You will probably need a tough backboard to ensure a firm grip - this would mean a similar bounce as a wall I think.

Not sure I understand the question - I have drilled the holes on the bricks and tried not to drill them on the cement ridges between the bricks.

Is it necessary to have a backboard or is it ok to mount it on wall ? Can you please review this hoop while shooting some balls
@diyprojects-rd6431 Жыл бұрын
Hi I have not used any backboards for the installation. The hoop is hanging fine from the wall. When drilling the wall please ensure that the hole size is such that the bolt is snug fit before the nut is tightened.
@User430282 жыл бұрын
should i put plastic inside the wall so it tight the bolts ?
@diyprojects-rd64312 жыл бұрын
I did not use any plastic in the hole. The hole size should be exactly the the same as the shank diameter. This ensures that when you tighten it, the grip will be very strong. All the best!

What is the size of the bolt sir?
@diyprojects-rd64312 жыл бұрын
Hi Kishan I don't remember it now. As an approximation the diameter is same as the hole on the bracket and the length I think was around 1 -1.5 inch. I hope that helps.

@diyprojects-rd64312 жыл бұрын
The hoop/ ring needs to be well secured to the wall so in my view it is best to secure it with bolts,as shown. A drill gun is available probably for 20ish and a drill bit for a 2-5 £.
