@RobolsMath thank you for considering my comment, and Sorry for my tone in the comment 😅 I have a question if you still remember these videos: In the video of dice you avoided the problem of the variables not being zero by making the substitution a=a'+1 Can't we use the same here for the 1st digit? Would it be the same result? Why to bother with all the steps of violation again when discussing a=0? I have a homework with this exact problem except the sum is 29 and not 25. Thanks in advance :)

Is there no option to TYPE in your equation instead of drawing it? For instance, it's difficult to fit the expression y=((cos(x^2)+x))+ln(x) on my phone's screen. It would fit if I could type it, however.

It’s possible to just type it out. The option to insert the graph also appears on my phone.

I tried typing the equation you gave and it works okay BUT you have to remove the extra parentheses. I’m not sure why but the parentheses mess up the equation recognition

Solution: ∫ln(1+x²)*dx = ∫ln(1+x²)*1*dx = ------------------------------------ Solution by partial integration: Partial integration can be derived from the product rule of differential calculus. The product rule of differential calculus states: (u*v)’ = u’*v+u*v’ |-u’*v ⟹ (u*v)’-u’*v = u*v’ ⟹ u*v’ = (u*v)’-u’*v |∫() ⟹ ∫u*v’*dx = u*v-∫u’*v*dx ------------------------------------ = ln(1+x²)*x-2*∫x²/(1+x²)*dx = ln(1+x²)*x-2*∫(1+x²-1)/(1+x²)*dx = ln(1+x²)*x-2*[∫(1+x²)/(1+x²)*dx-∫1/(1+x²)*dx] = ln(1+x²)*x-2*[∫dx-∫1/(1+x²)*dx] = ln(1+x²)*x-2x+2*arctan(x)+C Checking the result by deriving: [ln(1+x²)*x-2x+2*arctan(x)+C]’ = 2x²/(1+x²)+ln(1+x²)-2+2*1/(1+x²) = (2x²+2)/(1+x²)+ln(1+x²)-2 = 2*(x²+1)/(1+x²)+ln(1+x²)-2 = 2+ln(1+x²)-2 = ln(1+x²) everything okay!

Split into 2 partial fractions and set x = tan t to get [ 2 / (sec^2 t)^2 - 1 / (sec^2 t) ] (sec^2 t dt) = (2/sec^2 t - 1) dt = (2 cos^2 t - 1) dt = cos 2t dt = sin 2t / 2 + C = sin t cos t + C = tan t / sec^2 t + C = x / (1+x^2) + C. Perhaps this new technique is more useful when f(x) and g(x) are much larger degree polynomials, with or without a minor substitution such as y = x^n

Awesome review of math notes!! Thanks. I noticed that when you entered arcsin(1/2) it reported the answer in radians (not 30 deg). I can't find a way to make it report the answers in degrees initially, is there one or would you then have to convert the radians to degrees and another step?
@RobolsMath
@RobolsMath 3 ай бұрын
Yup! As mentioned in the trig part, the default mode is in radians so inverse trig functions output radians by default. I haven’t figured out a way to change the setting (if it’s possible at all), but you can convert the radians to degrees in another step by writing the numerical value with the “rad” units. For example, math notes give arcsin(1/2) = 0.5236. Write “0.5236 rad = “ in another line and it will give “30.000070153 degs” Hipe this helps :)

@@carolinebarlow4795 It should work by just tapping the number. The slider generally won't appear the first time you tap the number, so you'll to wait like 2-3 seconds before tapping again. Don't double tap either because it would highlight the number instead of suggesting a slider.
