how about the seller did not give me the account and i don't have the access can i activate a new account to used the starlink ?
@StarlinkHardware16 сағат бұрын
If the seller transferred the equipment out of their account and gave you the KIT# or serial number, yes, you can just activate it on your own account. If the seller did not release the equipment, nothing can be done with the dish.

Is the Gen3 router usable by iteslf for NAT features, port forwarding, parental control etc? Can I connect Starlink router to a Mesh router in a bridge mode and still have all the features of both Starlink router and the Mesh router?

The military uses of this are insanely obvious. But I'm glad it's going out. I know $600, and $30/mo sounds like a lot, but the garmin inreach mini 2 is $370 now, and the setup for an annual renewal is $20, and the max plan is at $50/month, up front. So $990 for the first year. That's very close to the $960 of the Starlink Mini. The biggest differences are that the Starlink is much heavier, doesn't work on the move, as you said, and draws a lot of power, but is obviously an insane amount more data. In my opinion this will be perfect for groups. You could turn it on for 30 minutes at lunch on a hike and let everone in your group communicate. So that actually brings the cost down because everyone gets private conversations. The killer app for hikers is actually weather, you can get high resolution animated weather from noaa or phone apps. I can see this eliminating satphone too. Video calls. Amazing. Not a killer app, but amazing. But that high quality weather will actually save lives. Weather kills hikers every year, in the usa.

I just got the invite and bit the bullet of $663 for the mini. My wife hates me up on the ladder so it makes sense to have a portable for our trailer, isolated cabin or side by side adventures. There is a 30 day trial so lets see. I can say that my Verizon data doesn’t work on big weekends with everyone on line so good to have a back up. Time will tell…

Can resetting for Gen 3 be successful after modem has gotten wet from unexpected storm?
@hamkahamid2044Күн бұрын
hi. Which uses the least power ? Since all of them are the same speed , the determining factor that becomes the amount of power it consumes for those of us roaming. Thank you for conducting this test.
@StarlinkHardwareКүн бұрын
The Gen 2 "Standard Actuated" dish has the lowest power consumption out of all of these models.

So it’s not just me, I didn’t buy yet but was thinking it surely doesn’t just rely on that shallow socket. Might be ok if you drill the pipe out and rivet nut it + loctite, but most people don’t have the tools and skills for that.
@StarlinkHardwareКүн бұрын
As of this week, Starlink is now offering a different design. It has a deeper socket and 2 set screws. It's now live on the shop and has replaced this version.

Hi, openvpn TPLink works with starlink to access remotely?
@scothunter32212 күн бұрын
I’m watching this video via Starlink mounted on top of my van, powered by 12v. I ran into this problem many times trying to get my system working. I eventually found that my cut and spliced original cable just didn’t seem to work so I ran with just a standard OTC cat six cable that was significantly shorter than the original. I also found that my original fully adjustable Voltage converter apparently was not working correctly and so I switched over to a simpler converter sealed buck converter and now everything is working just great. I wish I had seen your video earlier as it may have saved me some time troubleshooting but I did at one point do all the steps that you have provided. Great video.

I just got a new Gen 3 standard dish and it has that error msg every time but it fixes itself without me doing anything. I thought that is what it should be?
@StarlinkHardwareКүн бұрын
You shouldn’t be having the error. If it’s happening intermittently, it could be a hardware issue. I recommend reaching out to Starlink to see if they can spot the issue from their end. It would be better to take care of it now before something completely fails and doesn’t fix itself.

I bought one as soon as I got the email . I am in Alaska and my wife and I have a remote cabin. I was "sold" on the $30 per month fee. For us this seems absolutely perfect for our needs and in the perfect time for us is now as we spend most of our time there in the summer.

How can they compete? SpaceX can launch their satellites so cheaply with Falcon 9 and its customers paying for launches. Amazon has to pay full price to build its satellites and to launch them.

Can I run BOTH WiFi's active? Currently, our ISP is connected to my own Netgear Nighthawk. I have both the ISP's WiFi and Netgear WiFi. Will it be the same with Starlink, or MUST I disable the Starlink WiFi? I have a range of Wyze Cams, Google Dot, etc., which I channel through the far-reaching Netgear WiFi.

I got the invite last night and got it. I have a dormant gen 2 for my RV and the cost of 150 to turn it on every trip will cover the extra 30 per month. I will have to see if the 50gb per month cap will be a problem or not. Going to run it for a few weeks and see what it looks like.

We are existing starlink customers and just got the email offer for the starlink mini and it's a whopping $599.00😳. Which is double the price of what people thought it would cost🧐 ouch! The husband and I are going to figure out if it's cost effective for us to spend that on the mini and is it a need or a want for us, as we have cell phones with internet.
