Oh la la, un chant que j’ai chanté dans mon ancienne chorale (chorale religieuse de La Rochelle car maintenant j’ai changé de chorale depuis 3 ans). Que de bons souvenirs 😊

On ne prononce pas païom mais poïèm. C'est un chant ukrainien, pas russe, grave confusion maintes fois répétée. Le ë n'existe pas en ukrainien. Même les russes chantent poïèm. Il n'y a que les "étrangers" à chanter païom

Vous avez raison. C'est poïèm qu'il faut prononcer. Moi, je prononce païom car je suis française. Et effectivement, il y a grave confusion. Comme vous le voyez, j’ai chanté ce chant quand j’étais dans une chorale religieuse, à La Rochelle, il y a quelques années. ✝️

Dmitry Bortniansky était de nationalité LEMKO-RUSYN. Né le 28 octobre 1751 dans la famille de Stefan Skurat (ou Shkurat). Lemko-Rusyn réfugiée religieuse orthodoxe du village de Bortne dans la région de Malopolska. Il a été inscrit au registre cossack de Glukhov en 1755 (ville de Hlukhiv, Ukraine actuelle), puis une partie de l'Hetmanate Cossack autonome dans l'Empire russe.

Városminor, I thought the rendition was excellent. This was intended for my musical play, Yes, Lord. It was a funeral song to be sung at the death of the protagonist, a famous minister, to signal that death is not final but there is the promise of eternal life. Dr. Uzee' Brown's arrangement is quite exquisite.
