The lighting is excellent! Great video. I use Stren Gold on my panfish rod but use yellow 10lb. braid otherwise. Why mono over braid for you?
@AnglerX3 күн бұрын
I use the hi vis mono and watch the bow in the line as an indicator of fish bites or to indicate the jig has reached the bottom. Braid is limper and the bow in the line relaxes closer to the water and is less ideal for visual detection. Mono gives a nice smooth bow above the water. Also, mono falls slower through the water and provides the fall rate I want with 1/4 and 3/8oz jigs. Mono is better in freezing temps as well because it sheds the ice. Above all I think I prefer mono because that's what I've used my whole life and feel most confident with it. Confidence is huge in fishing success. If you have confidence in braid, then keep using it! Thanks for the question!

@@AnglerX I am also a line watcher.I use 2# Stren Gold on my ice fishing rods, and 8# on my Mississippi panfishing rod/reel combo. I love the electric shock feel of a walleye taking a jig on braid and the bright yellow Power Pro is easy to see. I also like the instant hook sets braid seems to provide. I just emailed Piscifun to see if I can order 3 spare spools for my 2000 and 1000 Alumix reels. If I can get them I'll spool the spares with Stren Gold and try the lines side by side.

@@dukemunger6932 you are definitely going to feel the hit better with braid! I'll use braid when throwing a ripp'n rap. With less stretch, it provides better ripping action and gives me a better chance of getting the bait back if it gets hung up.
