I use the Epson ET2800 and print right on the envelope. I am moving to the windowed though, but you can print your return address right on them with the printer and save some time

Is there a need to write non machinable for orders over six cards. Also, when would you add a second stamp to your letter?

Or you get a thermal laser printer. I bought 6000 labels for half a penny each. They are 6x4 and great for regular orders, so I only have to print out my direct RIs using a regular printer. And heck, for those you could in theory get a 9x11~ thermal printer and use that instead, but the labels for those are considerably more expensive, at very close to 5-6c each, which is right around your total cost between ink and paper assuming you're buying your reams at around $60 per 5k I just scale regular orders to 60% or so, comes out great. For the customer address you can just cut off the top and put it on like a sticker.

Then you mentioned you're in FL about halfway through the video and I am almost certain that we live next to each other. I thought, "That's funny" lmao I just recently began the first steps of building my own store, and those tips you gave at the beginning I think are really helpful, thank you for the tips and the deep dive, I wish more people were like you about their businesses and successes. Everything tries to look like you can get it all with the least effort, when reality is not very indicative of that.

Top loader side needs to face the front (stamp) side of the envelope because sometimes mail carriers will write on the envelope. This happens in apartment buildings when clarification is needed. Also if the card gets returned you may get “return to sender” creased into the back card.

I started selling last month. I’ve sold before on eBay pre pandemic and I’ve gotten back into it. Made $1k in the first month but the majority has gone into supplies and getting product. I’ve realized the money has been on slabs and sealed product. Singles I sell at least a or two card a day which is fine but the slabs, especially higher end ones have been successful for me at the moment. It does require some time investment and research but once you get it rolling and have people checking your shop out, you gotta just stay on top of things.

I swear by my laser printer for printing envelopes and packing slips. The printers and toner are pricier, but you get about 7500 pages out of a high-yield toner cartridge.

For grading, you can just buy a laminated jewelers card that you can use to measure your own centering, get a lamp, and use your phone for magnification to check for everything else. PSA seems the gold standard for Pokemon cards.

The business I work at switched over to ecotank inkjet printers after the boss kept buying used laser printers and cheap third party timers that would destroy the printer. The ink is cheap if you know where to buy it, the quality is above average if you’re just printing invoices/letters but we also print brochures on it. The major downside is the time it takes to print - a single page would take about 10-15 seconds. Clogged heads would happen every few hundred pages and you lose ink when you’re forced to do a head clean or deep clean and those take around 5 minutes. On the other hand, I bought a mono laser printer in the early 2000s and only had to replace the toner once. I upgraded to an AIO laser & gave it to my friend who used it for another 2-3 years until Windows 10 no longer supported it. I even switched my mother just recently from an inkjet that needed $100+ in ink to a mono laser because she rarely uses colour.

Grab a Jaden label printer, it’s thermal, printer is like $100 and 500 label stickers are also $20, and If you want bigger like the one you’re using it’s $20 for 200 sheets.

Some toner printers can print well past 4,000 pages on a single toner cartridge. The only downside is that laser toner printers cost considerably more, but could be worth it if this inkjet starts having nozzle clogging issues. Toner doesn't clog and is actually zero maintenance.

Why not just use brother laser black and white? Seems like the best way to go. Gets thousands of pagers per toner and might print faster overall.

Ink cartridges are such a scam when I used to work at Best Buy I always told people it cost more but you saving the long run with the ecotank style printers if you're doing volume

Don't waste money with the stamp for addresses, if you're printing packing slips with an inkjet or laser, you can just print the address on your envelopes.

Be careful including a business card in your orders, TCGPlayer's Seller Agreement may construe it as circumventing the marketplace. Taken from TCGPlayer: "You may not attempt to circumvent the marketplace sales process or divert marketplace customers to another website.
