The best thing about R.E was the action scenes. What it needs was a screen writer or second screen writer, and a slight change in story and structure. Possibly shorten the first 10min and have Ryan Drake in the movie in the first five. Or minutes. Start of with a flashback scene of Ryan with his team watching his friend get killed, so it starts off with having more empathy with the protagonist motives for wanting vengeance. Or it might have worked of it was a full 2-3 hour movie, but many of the characters we did not care for. The short Film The Flying Man amd The Great Kineeso was great short film. T.G.K was under three min and already got people hooked, and while yes both was superhero films so a different genre, it had great storytelling. I think C.D just needs a good writer and Screen writer.

This is ticking me off now. Where does one go to get a non-leftist take of this movie? To be clear, this was a pretty damn poor movie. However it was more of a vending machine affair. You put your novel into the vending machine and a bunch of clowns that promise you that they'll make you the best movie ever tells you that now made you the best movie ever and then they deliver you this crap on a plate. Dude's name isn't even in the credits, aside from shared writing duties! On the other hand, I do a KZbin search for reviews of this and all I get is progressives that hate the guy to begin with point and laugh about how bad bad it is. Just like this review. The choreography is bad. The pacing is bad. The colors are bad. The acting is bad. The story is bad. Why!? You go into no further depths! None of you do! 20 different reviews and it's like you copy pasted each other's homework! I thought you were supposed to be a damn screenwriter?! This is garbage and it's no wonder you have so little views on all of your videos. Your Channel, along with the hyenas pointing and laughing at this abortion, are as poor as this damn movie is! Low effort Take the Money and Run trash! Do better! Don't worry, I'll send Will Jordan a Twitter message telling him the same thing when choosing the next vending machine company to feed one of his books to. When you review that next movie why don't you go into some damn depth??! Tell us what he could have done here or what he should have done there or how this could have been better or what you recommended for this or that. That way it doesn't seem so God damn obvious that you think he's some racist alt right troll. At least pretend to give a damn about this crap and maybe you'll get more views!

I'll always be a HUGE Drinker fan. Love his reviews and overall point of view on the state of modern cinema, but this was a huge miss. It felt more like cut scenes from a video game than a cohesive story. I'd rather have just scene the limited $$ and effort go to tell the beginning of this story, but tell it well. This not only made me not want to see any future versions of this story, but turned me off toward the books as well. It started off as a confusing mess, and by the time we figure out who was who...I didn't care about any of them or what happened to them.

I admit I contributed to the kickstarter, hopeful it would come out better than it did. The visual style is not cinematic nor does it feel like it's made for TV. I understand this is his first effort, but he had the funding and likely good will that he could have had consultants or advice provided. I'm wondering if he lacked any kind of pushback during development, as he generally has a good eye for this stuff. Overall I was pretty disappointed with the end result. I think your review is honest and I find myself agreeing with it in general. I think it's fair to have expected more, I'm just curious why so many elements fell short.

Still, you would expect better results coming from a guy who made an online career and spent years complaining about movies/shows, mostly focusing on a big name company like Disney. And most of those years was spent on political beliefs than the analytical side of what makes a movie/show how it is on its own merits. This project just proves how much of a hypocrite he is.

@Neil-g4g22 күн бұрын
A note on Disney and CD: this short film was never meant to be a masterpiece. This is the first time he is doing it, on a limited budget (considering what such an action film demands) and limited talent. The same script with a different director, editor and background score would have made a huge difference. Throw in an experienced screen writer to help Will improve his script (he is experienced at writing novels not scripts) and we are talking about a better product. Increase the length of the film, and we have avenue for engaging set ups, progression and payoff. For example, Precinct 13 was a very simple film and yet much of its screen time is actually needed - meaning although it's unremarkable in the first 30 mins --- that set up helps. Point is - if Will had access to more money (and thereby talent) we would have seen something different. I just hope that they do more of these and improve from their mistakes. Comparing this project to what Disney does given all the things at Disney's disposable is intellectually dishonest. This doesn't mean that Will film isn't poor but it provides context as to why. Disney HAS NO EXCUSE. Sorry. No major experienced, loaded production house has any excuse.
@SlamBeegad19 күн бұрын
Limited budget, eh? Assault on Precinct 13 is a GREAT (feature length) movie made for less than Rogue Elements. I know it was 1976! Also the goal was £20,000 & they got £300,000. So they got 15 times the goal & you wanna blame the budget? LMAO It's bad because Will Jordan's books are bloated, poorly written derivative trash. Movies ARE movies & they ALL get treated the same. SUPER low budget movies like... Primer, Halloween, The man from Earth, the evil dead are GOOD movies. High budgets don't make good movies. GREAT ideas that are written well & executed properly make good movies. By your Disney money logic then Drinker could have made a good movie IF he had £5 MILLION? HOW? The dialogue fairy gonna make him write better I suppose. PMSL

@@SlamBeegad The limited budget is mentioned in the context of a spy film. Consider the hits and misses of the MI series, and compare their budgets. And mind you, the MI series had some of the best resources at their disposal. Spy films are incredibly difficult to make from I can tell. Precinct 13 is a great movie - but it's a simple movie. Precinct 13 was made for LESS & IS excellent & IS an action movie. Rogue Elements IS an action movie. Oranges & oranges. Rogue Elements does NOT need TEXT to start. What's to explain? (2 strangers die & 1 gives Drake's name in SECONDS-- PATHETIC & waste of time & money) INSTEAD, Straight to hanger where Drake watches the torture scene on laptop. I just saved 3.5 minutes & $$$$$. THAT money goes into a slow first act where we see the characters develop. In a few rooms, YES. Boring? ONLY if Will Jordan created pieces of cardboard in his books, which he did. Rogue Elements raised 15 times its goal. Seems to me IF they had a £20,000 budget they'd have to make a different movie. They didn't know what to do with the extra money. EVERYTHING about it IS poorly done because Drake is a boring knock off with NO personality. Flashbacks? In a 36 minute movie? WHY? Have a scene with Hastings FIRST so we SEE he's Drake's friend THEN I might CARE when he dies. Anya in the cell. WHY is it a flashback? It's better to start in the PAST & then jump forward because then we KNOW more about the characters & I will CARE. Start in the cell in present day & SHOW me the guys face THEN when she kills him I get a sense of satisfaction because he tortured her. It's very simple, Drake is a shite character with NOTHING new or interesting to say or do & Will Jordan is an average writer at best who can't tell a competent & compelling story. Instead of making excuses for why it's bad, tell me what you like about it? What was done well? Go away now.
