It’s possible your not square after the first 2 cuts cuz saw can be dull or pushing it to hard and the sawblade is running into the log or out of the log

Is the blade/machine self propelled or manly? You were talking about having to go slower with this blade to get a better outcome but couldn't you go at the same speed as this blade with the other blade to get a better looking piece of wood?
@TheOldManAndTheSaw
@TheOldManAndTheSaw 10 күн бұрын
First of all Sue EVERYTHING I do is manly........at least that's what I tell people. The 4 degree blade (4/34) just can't cut as fast as the Turbo 7 blade (7/39) I usually use. It's all in the profile design. The Turbo 7 blade cuts faster but has a tendency to leave chatter marks in the board if it's not run fast enough. In the end, most rough cut hardwood lumber will be processed further which should remove all surface defects so, I guess, chatter marks are not a big deal.

Hobby Hardwood channel mentioned that his Woodmiser hydraulics are switch activated. If this is the same with yours it should be possible to add a switch to lower either or both toe boards whenever you raise the log turner (just like the back stops already do). If the toe boards are already down nothing will happen. Check with Woodmiser first though.

I've been an expert sawyer several times myself. For the first time ever yesterday, we sawed right past a nail that neither one of us saw. When we went to edge the flitches on the mill, there it was, sticking right out of the side of one of the 1 1/8" boards, untouched. Perfect blade placement and expertise. :)
