great video i feel like developers designed this system, it's almost but not quite what is required. how do you set the bounds of the maps on the scene? I will play around, but sadly I think - with the same tech, there's just a few ways to customize this that are missing so you cannot get perfectly landscape aligned or system driven clouds... kinda sad. I'll see

I followed all the steps, but every time I saved and viewed the plane in the scene, it appeared completely transparent. Does anyone know why? When I changed it to opaque, it turned green, but without all the other elements. When I switched it back to transparent, it didn't look the same as in the video.

Hi. Thanks for the great tutorial. I have a question, when I increase the lux of the direction light to 10000, the scene is so bright that I can't see anything. why is this?
@BinaryImpact
@BinaryImpact Жыл бұрын
Lux is the unit of illuminance in the International System of Units. It is defined in terms of lumen s per meter squared (lm/m 2 ). So what is exactly 1 lux? A measurement of 1 lux is equal to the illumination of a one metre square surface that is one metre away from a single candle. Sunlight provides between many thousand of lux to only a few hundred depending on the weather conditions & time of day. The lux of artificial indoor lighting, however, is typically 1000 lux or below. Basically your 10000 means your put 10000 candles one metre away from your surface or you look directly in the sun! I hope this helps :)

Currently trying to implement a floating origin system in a scene with local volumetric clouds. I'm having trouble finding a way to move/offset the clouds while maintaining their exact shape (and erosion) so that it wouldn't look like the clouds were "jumping" when the origin shifts. Do you know of any way to accomplish this?
@akshatmaurya3964
@akshatmaurya3964 27 күн бұрын
Man I'm trying the same thing, the lowest cloud altitude thing is a real issue because my game has an aircraft that needs to fly many kilometres above the ground, but every time I shift the origin the clouds just teleport to above the aircraft even if they were below it previously. If you get to know any solution to the floating origin issue then please share as well

That is probably one of the learning resources used but ChatGPT shows a level of "understanding" that goes way beyond simply reciting code that was written by someone else. The ability to understand the initial question alone is impressive. And being able to substitute algorithms or parts of algorithms is just crazy. You even can tell it which arguments you want to pass and how to format the code...

Amazing tutorial. I assume part 2 will cover the "advanced" and "manual" cloud control settings? Any idea when that's coming? I find the clouds with simple control nice, but I'd really like to get into manually shaping clouds to approach things like clouds interacting with mountains and using clouds for storytelling, by writing to a texture. I hope that that's possible. I can't wait for part 2!
