My very first kitten was terrified of everything. But I decided to try to socialise her. I was scared that she'd get lost if I left her hiding under the bed, so I scruffed her and pulled her out. Of course the poor thing was so scared she attacked me. Scratched and bit my thumb. About a week later she decided to trust me, and quickly after that she bonded with me. She grew into the most wonderful friend, and she trusted me completely, as I did her. Tragically she died when she was only 6 years old, due to a heart condition. I was devastated and I'd not long since also lost my mam. It was a truly dark time. I now have another fur baby and she means the world to me. But if I remember, I like to look at the scar on my thumb, that my first cat gave me, and I love that it'll always be there. What a beautiful girl she was: Amber. So clever and so gentle.
