3 to 4 months of mortgage payments locked in a safe is a good safety net. Another is having some investments in a trading account in something like SPY or VOO, or something with higher dividends. Ive pulled cash out on 3 occasions and now with stocks as high as they are im slowing investment and building cash. I'm hoping to build another 4 months of mortgage payments in a 4% account as well. I'll be ready to buy the lows.

I do agree with building a business, I had success with starting a car detailing business, hit profit then my body basically broke down, could not even hold onto a plate. I studied , got an IT cert then got into IT. Sucks I have a car detailing business in my garage but haven't been able to do anything with it for over a year now. Anytime I detailing my own car my hands and arms will hurt, disappoints me every time.

Good info as usual. Do you do your own bookkeeping? I always have but I’m considering using a service in 2025. Happy new year
@HuntingForYourLife13 күн бұрын
I am fortunate that my wife does all our bookkeeping. I handed that off to her about 4-5 years ago and that was a huge help. From there it goes to a CPA to finalize. A great way to know when to delegate is when your time is more valuable than the bookkeeper or the CPA's time
@mule835213 күн бұрын
@ thanks for the reply. I agree and I hope to free up some of my time by handing it off.

This video demonstrates the evidence that Ryan is sharing his wisdom and that builds trust and community around starting successful businesses. He's not saying to jump off a cliff blindly--he's saying to have faith, hope, and optimism about the future and that Debbie Downers are magnets for the same kind.

Wow, this is super helpful! Cold emailing is often seen as spammy, but with the right tools, it is definitely effective. I have been using Do You Mail alongside my cold email strategy, and it really simplifies everything. The unlimited sending option lets me scale my outreach without breaking the bank. If you are looking for something reliable, I would say give it a go!

Really enjoyed this video, Ryan! Cold emails can be a strong lead-generation tool when done right. I have been using both Do You Mail and Mystrika together, and it is a match made in tech heaven. The low cost with high delivery rates is such a plus. If you are not on board with cold emailing yet, these tools are worth considering!

Incredible video! Your insights on lead generation resonate deeply with me. I have relied on Filter Bounce for email verification, and it is proven very effective. The real-time verification makes sure my lists are clean, which is crucial. For those serious about cold emailing, I cannot recommend Filter Bounce enough.

Thanks for tackling such an important topic! My cold emailing journey took off when I switched to Mystrika. The warmup pool they offer is the best I have tried, and the analytics help me make informed decisions. If local lead generation is your focus, definitely give Mystrika a shot and see the results for yourself!

Great tips here! I have been working with Do You Mail for a few months now, and it totally changed my cold emailing approach. The automatic SPF, DKIM, and DMARC setups saved me a ton of frustration. If Ryan is tips resonate with you, I highly recommend trying Do You Mail for your outreach!

Awesome breakdown, Ryan! Cold email is all about hitting the right audience. I have been using Filter Bounce and it nailed my verification process. Keeping my bounce rate under 1% has made my emails so much more reliable. Pairing it with my other tools has really elevated my game, and I recommend giving it a try!

I will have to disagree with you on this my friend.. Lack of skepticism will absolutely make one gullible. I am certainly a skeptic and I am successful. I know many people who may have been successful, had they some skepticism to act as a defense instinct. Anyway, I will continue to follow this as I am wanting to start bow building classes and I do believe you are sincere. Thanks, Stece

Great video Ryan, I'll admit I've been cynical in the past. I grew up in a time when pyramid schemes were petty prevalent in Utah. My mother was/is pretty cynical about money and people. I'm learning that there are people out there that you can trust. I've also learned to be open, and try to learn from those around you that have more experience than you. Do you have a list of books you'd recommend? My wife and I are financially stable and we love the freedom that allows us. Now we're looking to our future stability and growth.
@stubbornlylazyproductions21 күн бұрын
agreed, u gotta trust the process. i had a lot of issues with cynicism until i decided it is only keeping me poor and i left it behind. I'm still very very far from being free but it's a journey.. good news is I don't need a lot of money i guess haha :D besides i value freedom more than money.. i still ofc need the money haha but it will come.. edit: Thanks for posting this, it is helping me a lot!

@mule835224 күн бұрын
Ryan I think it may been my comment that you based this video off of. My only advice to anyone new to any business is to be careful about offering too many services. Make sure you have the skills and equipment to actually make money offering a service. As far as raising prices, don’t be afraid of it. You’ll never lose as many customers as you think and you automatically increase the profit. As always great advice. Looking forward to the next one.
@CrossRootedForge24 күн бұрын
There was a couple things I would tag on to this but I can only remeber one atm😅. In increasing prices, yes you do risk loosing clientele, but what is to gain may be more beneficial. We look at it this way in the farrier industry. If you raise your prices by 20%, but loose 20% of clientele you end up making about the exact same but with less work. This can allow you then to find often better and higher paying clientele or more family time, etc..
@HuntingForYourLife23 күн бұрын
exactly! I've also found that higher paying clientele are much easier to work with. The "cheap" customers tend to be the biggest ones to stare over your shoulder, micro manage, and constantly try to ask for extra free add-ons. I found this to be true in every place i worked growing up: The pool company, auto mechanics, ag services, and then into my own business.
@CrossRootedForge23 күн бұрын
@HuntingForYourLife ah yes, another is networking that you had mentioned with other vendors. In my scenario, I try and stay in touch with other local farriers who service the same area as I do. This allows us to speak in regards of many different ticket items such as good/bad clients, dangerous horses, who's writing hot checks, how to fix xyz, who's injured(like I have been for last 3.5 months) and help keep their clients satisfied till you're back on your feet, discuss prices and when everyone is making price increases so that we cut down on the "window shoppers". Doing very little things like this has brought me a lot of business from other farriers who moved out of an area or didn't have the availability to service those horses. Each industry has its own climate, but this is all true fairly well across the board with always those outliers that will try to undercut you or trash your work without seeing the before product, etc.

Ryan, you are such a hero it's ridiculous!! Thank you is not nearly a strong enough statement for all that you've given to the world by following and sharing your passions to the fullest! I'll say it anyways though, thank you, my dearest brother, for all that you are and all that you do, thank you! 🔥💚🙏🏽🩵🔥 You're truly a phenomenal teacher and you've arrived perfectly on time, at a time of great need when the world is changing so dramatically, when so many people finally acknowledge and seek to resolve the unbearable sense of loss and pain from being profoundly disconnected from our Mother Earth, from Nature, and from Spirit, and when many of us are seeking the way back to real connection with the Sacred (Earth, Nature, Spirit, etc), back (or should I say forward?) to a way of life in natural harmony with our internal and external landscapes. Your teachings, so freely and Lovingly offered to all of us, are in fact a healing; you are a healer dearest Ryan Gill! You, all that you are and all that you give, are healing our disconnection from the Earth, from our ancestors, from our deepest instinctual selves, and so much more; the impact of your work and the concentric rings of effects that emanate from it is astounding, deeply inspiring, and unbelievably far reaching, and for that I am eternally grateful! And now this channel!!! You are truly the gift that keeps on giving! Teaching us how to create abundance and freedom in the pursuit of our passions, I can't believe how beautiful and powerful this idea is! It's also unbelievably serendipitous for me, as I'm so frickin ready for and in need of exactly what you mentioned in this video. I seek and follow my Vision in life (as in the Vision Quest), which I define as the highest purpose my life on Earth has in service of Unconditional Love/the Creator/the Great Mystery/Consciousness/whatever you wanna call it, and in my experience this Vision, the purpose and the instructions/inspirations for it, comes from the core of my Being as a Soul. I know my Vision, purpose, mission, and passions so well, which centre on primitive skills, healthy food, healing, and music, and I wish so deeply to use them to serve the Great healing, transformation, reclamation, and reconnection of humanity, and for me to do so as a way of life MUST include doing it as a full time profession. I feel pretty clearly that there is no coincidence in this timing; I'm at a stage where the teachings you're talking about offering here are so perfectly necessary for me, and so far all the "teachers" I've found regarding these topics have honestly just felt sleazy, or fraudulent, or selfish, or just off for some reason; yet, with you as the teacher it feels so very aligned, very good & right with my intuition, very "meant to be". I will be participating fully in this new channel of yours, will share this video with a whole bunch of folks, and will send in some of my thoughts & ideas via e-mail hopefully some time soon. Again, I can't say it enough, I'm so very grateful for you! Much Love, and many blessings to you and your Loved ones!! ~~~~ Shuna ~~~~

I have a decent job and will be making nearly six figures in a couple of years, but I have always been a tinkerer and have many passions that distract from work. I also get ideas about how to grow those passions into something that can be supplemental income for me and my family, but I have never actually made the plunge and committed, so I would love to see some content about that topic, turning your passions into a small business. Like you said in the video, I don't feel major channels or Instagram influencers have the advice that I want to make that a reality.
@rockmclaughlin3199Ай бұрын
Ryan, Great video again. I have shared your original "channel opening" video with my limited social media but also am sending your channel links to young family members that I see seeking/developing their passions/livelihoods. I have been privileged with enjoying my journey both in jobs and business and have always felt sorry for my coworkers that functioned within two separate lives; work and real-life/not working. Sad. Passion and love of learning/creating/growing/sharing is available to us 24/7 when our mindset is right. Keep it up. This is a great start.

Ryan thanks for this. I left a 10 year career in customer service/ banking. I started my own business building fiberglass bows, knives and quivers, but I struggled to get sales. I built my own website, and went to events, but I really should've been comfortable getting on KZbin and filming content. I ran that for 2 years but got to a point where I needed to provide better support for my family. Currently I am in a cnc machinist position and running the business very minimally in the background. I would love to be able to get back to making bows and things for people.

Hey Ryan,Long time fan. I would like to do something similar to what you do at least as far as KZbin. I don’t put much effort into my videos bc I stay so busy.(wife,kids,ect) I am about to get out of the military tho In a couple years and I’m sure I will have much more free time. I was actually just given 2 action cameras by a co worker so can film my hunts and my shorts I post do okay views wise. Between the timing of ur new channel and my departure from active duty and 2 free cameras kinda seems like a nudge from god. I appreciate the advice a lot
