questions i buy 4 brand new tires in 2024 but the date on tires 2020 what do i do with that
@ThePitStopTirePros17 күн бұрын
Monitor the condition from the items listed in the video. If you see any signs of premature wear like dry rot before the tires have reach 2/32 make sure to stay in contact with the installer. If you purchased your tires from a big box store (discount, or big o, etc.) make sure to communicate that early. As they in most cases are terrible with long term warranties.

Not mentioned in the vid is the newest Cooper Discoverer Stronghold AT…just put a set of 295/70R17’s on my ‘06 Megacab 4x4. They road forced/balanced really good on my factory stock wheels. Great tread pattern, I’d say sits in btwn the AT3 lineup tread and the STT lineup tread. Hopefully I’ll get some longevity out of ‘em, hardly any reviews/vids out yet since a fairly new tire. I’ve got the AT3 4S’s in 255 series on a couple of lifted early 2000’s Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4’s and they’ve held up well and the ride quality is great.

How is the road noise with them?
@usmc615713 күн бұрын
@@ZimmyF250 No road noise or hum so far…keep in mind at this point I’ve only got about 75-80 miles on the Stronghold AT’s. Finally got them on the interstate yesterday for about a 30 mile round trip and 70-75 mph speeds, no noise and the ride is just as smooth as it can be.

But you people never tell everyone else that if you put on a wheel with negative offset that pushes the tire out, that the tire now swings out further front and back/bigger radius.

I'm thinking about putting the new Discoverer Road+Trail on my Gen 5 4Runner Limited. These seem to be the perfect AT tires for snow-covered roads and some mild/moderate off-roading.

2004, 2500 / 4 wheel drive , Mine is in the rear end and started after using the 4 wheel drive 4 LOW in mud, it bounces like a basketball at 45 mph now in rear of the truck using the 2 wheel drive on first drive after the mud and going back to 2 wheel drive ? There is no mud on the tires just the mud stain !
@ThePitStopTireProsАй бұрын
@@MrSymbolic7 Impossible to diagnose remotely, but would suggest looking at any rear track bar or radius arms in the rear end. Check and make sure no bushings were damaged from the off-roading. Bouncing will occur from connections points that allow movement. The bouncing is in those connection points moving from end to end created by a cavitation once you’ve hit 45mph. Could also be damage to propeller shaft with either damaged to the shaft, any balance weights or the ujoints as well.

you can just get out the car and put in neutral. open the door and push the car by the door. get in when you have speed put in 2nd gear and release the clutch quickly and push it back. at the same time give it a little gas + turn the key in case your starter has a little juice left in it. then the engine! (not car!) will start. the car may recharge depending on the state of your alternator and battery. if not you will not see RPM/KMH/etc. and will have to drive by feel. this the way may dad teach me.

So I have a 2001 Tahoe with +33 offset and I’m looking at rims with -44 offset is that to much or what should I be looking for I want it to be wider for bigger tires it only has 245/75/r16 and if I put 265/70/16 on they rub on the control arms or tie rods
@ThePitStopTirePros2 ай бұрын
Offset is really only meant to give you enough space to clear your suspension arms any more can actually start to obstruct the tread in the fender wells. Your offset difference is slightly over 3”. Typically negative offset is a compensation for a wider tire. Lift or leveling is for a taller tire. Ergo when upsizing a significantly wider and taller tire both adjustments are combined (lift & offset). Not just one. Rough country has a really good tire guide below each of their lift components to understand what wheel and tire combo will fit with each lift including tire size and wheel offset.
@stevenconrad37342 ай бұрын
@@ThePitStopTirePros I found one that is 16x9 -12 offset would that be to much i already can fit these tires height wise a little to well the bigger 265s but yes I need to clear maybe an inch or so on the inside I think I just took 2 inch wheel spacers off because they had torn up my wheel bearing

Dodge death wobble. Jeep death wobble. Chevy shake. Maybe it's time the auto manufacturers go back to putting grease zerks on the steering and suspension joints so we can maintain our vehicles properly. But no, the manufacturers can save $10 per vehicle without the zerks.

I purchased an EMP Shield for my solar controller. It totally discharged my batteries and damaged the controller forcing me to buy another. I'd NEVER advise someone to buy this thing as they do NOT stand behind their warranty. Incidentally, they have NOT adequately tested this thing so there's no proof that it will actually work.

My oem wheels Toyota Camry 2020 offset is 50 mm,I want change my rims for lexus rx450 h with 30 mm offset ,Will my wheels go beyond the car's fender or will it be too far inside? Or won't it change anything?
@ThePitStopTirePros4 ай бұрын
Would be impossible to say anything for certain without a test fit, but your difference is 20mm. One inch is 25.4mm so 1/5 less than one whole inch of rim outward past the current rims position.

Les shwab sold me a 2 year old tire at the price of a new tire. Should I be worried? I feel like they stold 2 years of my tires.
@ThePitStopTirePros4 ай бұрын
Remember to keep in mind the conditions of the tire during your use. If you typically go through tires in 2-3 years then most likely will be fine. Just keep an eye on how the sidewall and tread looks periodically. If it shows signs of premature fatigue, talk to the dealer about warranty. But if for the life of the tread, they perform fine, then use this information as a bargaining chip in your next tire purchase as buying a 2 year old tire should gain you some negotiating ability.

I'm interested in the HD Terrain. For use on the sheepfarm in South Afrika. i'm using the Cooper AT3 which is a good tyre, but does not give many kilometers; only 60ooo km.
@ThePitStopTirePros4 ай бұрын
That is pretty low in treadwear for the Cooper but the AT3 line is 3 peak snow rated. Giving the tread a softer compound in the harsh winter months. HD Terrain is a much heavier duty tire which will decrease in adverse weather performance but have much larger denser tread lugs. It was designed for heavy trucks so if you’re running on any truck you’ll most likely experience longer life.
@CattleGuy4 ай бұрын
I will be honest with you. As a rancher in Texas, this HD terrain has been a game changer for us. I have 6 heavy Ram 3500’s all Longbeds with 4x4. When hauling cattle we saw an increase of 3-5mpg when compared to the Cooper Discover AT3 XLT’s. They are wearing well and handle well off road. Snow - Great Mud - Great Rock - Great Same - Good Rain - Good Ice - Bad Tread wear - Good We have about 15,000 on each set.
