I'm interested in the HD Terrain. For use on the sheepfarm in South Afrika. i'm using the Cooper AT3 which is a good tyre, but does not give many kilometers; only 60ooo km.

That is pretty low in treadwear for the Cooper but the AT3 line is 3 peak snow rated. Giving the tread a softer compound in the harsh winter months. HD Terrain is a much heavier duty tire which will decrease in adverse weather performance but have much larger denser tread lugs. It was designed for heavy trucks so if you’re running on any truck you’ll most likely experience longer life.

I will be honest with you. As a rancher in Texas, this HD terrain has been a game changer for us. I have 6 heavy Ram 3500’s all Longbeds with 4x4. When hauling cattle we saw an increase of 3-5mpg when compared to the Cooper Discover AT3 XLT’s. They are wearing well and handle well off road. Snow - Great Mud - Great Rock - Great Same - Good Rain - Good Ice - Bad Tread wear - Good We have about 15,000 on each set.

I’m looking at the HD terrain for my Ram 2500 with the Cummins. My truck is a commuter, a toy hauler, and off-roader. I tow 7-14k Lbs pretty often. I use it as a do all truck. I commute to work 80 miles round trip Monday through Friday. And I tow an offroad trailer or dedicated wheeling Jeep on the weekends. Would the HD terrains be worth it? I see snow, mud, and some aggressive off-roading.
